A writer from France Football was on Newstalk this evening and said that the Anelka to Chelski deal was done this afternoon for 17m Euro. Probably be announced tomorrow pending a medical, Citeh missed out with a late bid.
Be interesting to see if it is, he would be a great addition to that side.

More like £12m :jaw: (exchange rate is 1.4, so that makes 16.8m)
Spells doom for Bolton IMO. They've got a bit of money to get a replacement but they better make it a good one. They've been linked with Cisse haven't they? :haha:
That's the difference between us and Chelsea/Man U/Arsenal.
They can go out and sign a high quality player and don't really need to worry about the cost. So what if he isn't good enough, they will move on and sign another high quality expensive player.
What's a £10m-£15m loss for them compared to us?

The Scum will probably soon sign Berbatov for something like £30m and he will be their third best striker. We have Kuyt as our second best striker.

I very much doubt the Glazers can just afford to see £15m spunked on shite and then just pop up with another £15m...nor Arsenal, for that matter.

Good deal for them Anelka is a goal machine and i wish we had the cash to plash out on a striker....cant see us buying anyone now Anelka was the perfect choice not cup tied and not a crazy price :sigh:

and was extremely happy at liverpool. He would happily sign for us!!!!!!!!
Would suit us nicely. Anelka and Torres up front would finally get us a lot of goals and relieve some of the goal pressure on nando and stevie

That is one of Rafa's problems. As long as he is bagging the goals for us, I dont care how lazy he is. He is a striker and ther to SCORE goals. Not run around like a headless chicken all the time i.e. Kuyt.

Have to say, I think he would have been a fantastic addition, he has so much ability. You have to wonder, if Utd can afford to have Ronaldo in their team, then surely we could afford Anelka in ours, Nando works enough for 2 forwards, and Dirk works enough for half the team, sadly thats all he's got!
