i watched the first 15 minutes, after the liverpool game, if only we coulf play attacking football like they are doing at the moment, they are shit hot and a very hard team to stop. ronaldo has 19 in the league already and 27 in total this season, unbelievable :grr:

Wasn't it that we had a bid, Sporting were going to accept, then Man Utd came in at the '11th hour' and mid something 3-4m more than us and the rest is history.
according to thompson sporting where dying to get rid of him and a price of 4 mil had been agreed, next thing he knew is that utd played a pre-season game against them where he was brilliant and a fee between utd and sporting was agreed of 12 mil. i remember thomo telling he spat his tea out when heard the news...

We should have got his name on the contract before the Man U game. Very stupid to wait when you know that they would play United a few days later.

thing is though that according to thommo, they where in no rush as sporting where dying to get rid of him and where flogging him of but there weren't any takers, and the negotiation not over and they weren't really hurrying cause there wasn't anyone really interested. untill the fucking mancs came to town :rant:

To be fair though, if we HAD signed him, GH would've exctracted any flair and ability out of him and turned him into a statue of flair-less proportions.

Possibly in the world. He is consistently scoring goals and for a winger to score 19 goals in the league with 1/4 of the season left, is extremely good.

Brilliant player and I love his cocky attitude. I didn't think the free kick was worthy of the hype it's getting though. Very good but nothing you don't see at least once a week elsewhere around the country.
