Anelka will be the flop of the season...

His history shows that he's only a good goalscorer at smaller clubs and therefore under less pressure:

Arsenal: 28 goals in 90 games - nothing spectacular
Real Madrid: 2 goals in 19 games - poor
Liverpool: 5 goals in 22 games - poor
    Chelsea: 0 so far...

PSG: 19 goals in 67 games - ok
Man City: 46 goals in 103 - good
Bolton: 23 goals in 61 games - ok

Furthermore, he only surpassed the 100 league goals mark this season which is pretty disappointing for someone who has been around for so long, has played at such a high level and is "the world's most expensive player".

He has actually scored for Chelsea!!!!!! vs Wigan last Saturday. I know it was in the cup but you didnt mention just league goals.

Where did you get the stats? I've looked at two places and both have th enumber of Arsenal games as in the 60s (same number of goals though).

I think he will do well he is a much more creative player than he used to be. I don't think he will replace Drogbe as the spearhead of their team but with both they will be a big threat IMO. I would expect him to probably score around the 1 in 3 mark but his all round game will add more than that to Chelsea.

I like him. And for £15m I'd say he's better than Heskey, Diouf, Baros and Kuyt.

With all of their skills added together. He is a much better player and someone Houllier should NOT have got rid of. He was desperate to stay with us, and I also know he has said he would have joined us before any other team if we would have put in a bid for him!!!

But he was only a youngster and still maturing as a player at Arsenal and had massive porblems at Real Madrid. Basically he should never have left Arsenal at that stage of his career. He wasn't happy back at PSG and when he got to Man City and Bolton he settled in and scored a lot of goals in teams which don't create many chances.

Basically I am trying to say I rate him
