    Kuyt and Bellamy

Isn't it great to hear them bigging each other up they way they are after only one start together. I for one am really looking forward to seeing mroe of that partnership. Could be bad news for Robbie though i feel, think he starting places will be really limited this season if all remain injury free.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

    * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Yes…it does look promising. It's not all doom and gloom for Robbie.
If you look at it from his perspective - he's still living the dream. Would he rather be sitting on the bench at Man City?
Playing regularly for a Championship side? He will get a lot of games this year, and with a bit of luck a league winner's medal!!

I can't remember when we last had such a strong pool of strikers to pick from. A tough call for Rafa, keeping 'em happy when all 4 are fit, but it's part and parcel of his management duties.

I'd rather they did all their talking on the pitch by banging in 20 goals a piece rather than mouthing off about each other.

Agreed but this burgeoning reletionship will venetually lead to the talking being don on the pitch.

Agree. Robbie might have a run of form now and then, but what I`ve seen from him so far this season points towards retirement. We were all deligthed when his return, but he`s now had a good pre-season and doesn`t deliver.
He reminds me a bit of Morientes at LFC. They both sees the right moves and where the ball will come, but are to slow to capitalse on it.
maybe Robbie should move to Spain?

If Robbie shows good form I am sure he will challenge for a place...........however he has looked out of sorts do far so it stands to reason that he is bottom of the pecking order

I'm starting to think Kuyt would be better paired with Crouch.

Jesus Christ....Robbie has played TWO ****ING games (total on field time:146 minutes!!)this season!!
And he got us a point with his penalty in Sheffield. I'm not saying he's our best striker, but Jesus Christ!!

But he wasn`t on fire last either or the season before that.
The point is that he`s now probably as fit as he`ll ever be, but `he looks to slow. He`ll score some goals for us, and create for others, but he`s not the goalscorer he used to be.
There are enough players in the squad that creates chances, but not enough scorer IMO.

You're deliberately missing my point. Nobody is saying that he's the goalscorer he used to be at all.
For you to even point this out is superfluous to the debate.

I'm taking issue with your ridiculous comments from above:

Agree. Robbie might have a run of form now and then, but what I`ve seen from him so far this season points towards retirement. We were all deligthed when his return, but he`s now had a good pre-season and doesn`t deliver.

You are basing your whole argument on 146 minutes of football, which is ludicrous. I doubt you would judge players such as Alonso or Gerrard by the same criteria, and I find that unjust.

Robbie is - rightly so - fourth choice striker for us. My guess is that he accepts this. But who else would you realistically expect to fill that role?
