In fairness to Arsenal they have Troare and Hoyte in the full back positions so they are getting killed down the wings. Not really surprising.

I dont think Bendnaar and Silva are good enough either

He is so much better than Alonso. He has running power, pace, skill, intelligence. Everything he lacks. He might not be the main man right now, but he will be the main part of the spine in years to come when Scholes retires.

I don't think Arsenal cared to be quite honest. Its less games for them, more distraction for the Scum, potential suspensions, injuries and less fitter players in the run-in. Wenger wants to win the League and a good run in the Champions League is just something extra.
