Was just watching the Arsenal Man U match and got thinking. Lehman just nearly got his head took off with a ball to the face and posibly knocked him out, but theres only a couple mins left of the first half.

Could an outfield player go in goal for the final few minutes of the first half, to give Lehman half time to recover and come back out in the second half, with the player who went in goal reverting back to his outfield role?

Yes providing you don't bring a sub on for the goalkeeper obviously. He can stay on the pitch in an outfield role or go off for treatment.

When we were playing Everton at Anfield (Gerrard's first Merseyside derby) I believe Westerveld and Jeffers were sent off and one of our lads had to take Westerveld's place in a goal. We lost 0-1 I believe and Gerrard was sent off for attempted murder on Kevin Campbell :)

If I remember rightly, and I could be wrong I think it was Steve Staunton

but can an outfield player switch postions with the goalie, if he's there are substatutions left, can an out field player go in the net and the goalie to the outfield?

Yes.

It doesn't matter which way round it is. How can it?

Naturally, you need to inform the referee before making the change and the two players have to swap shirts (or at least wear the right shirts). Otherwise the new goalkeeper will get done for handball.
