Reports claim record Ronaldo bid
Real said to be readying £100million offer

Spanish reports claim Real Madrid have decided to offer Manchester United a world-record £100million for Cristiano Ronaldo.

It is believed Real told United last summer they would pay up to 120million euros for the Portuguese star.

The Red Devils made it quite clear they had no plans to sell Ronaldo - but the wonderful form of player, which has seen him score nearly 40 goals this season, will prompt a new bid.

Real have made little secret of their desire to lure Ronaldo to the Spanish capital and now La Sexta is claiming that an incredible £100million bid is imminent.

La Sexta - who have the rights to La Liga television coverage in Spain, are said to have close ties with high-ranking Real officials, from where the news on the possible bid have emanated.

However, it is also being reported that despite the huge bid, Real are not expecting United to accept the deal.

The current world record for a footballer is already held by Real, after they £46million to Juventus for Zinedine Zidane in 2001.

Recent speculation intensified after it was reported in Spain that Real's sporting director Predrag Mijatovic met with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes in London and Rome in recent weeks.

yup cant wait for the little prick to fuck off to europe, taking his horrific adam's apple with him. im sure that's the reason he gets past so many people - less skill and more scaring the opposition with that thing. "oh shit, what is that?! i can't look. here, just go past me."

united would be half the team without the horrible cunt.

Why?!?!

£100m, or at least the best part of it, for United to spend?!?

Don't get me wrong, I'd like him to fuck off somewhere else but I wouldn't exactly be skipping with joy about United's coffers being swelled to the tune of £100m.

I don't think £100M would make a big difference to them. They are loaded, and I don't think they even need the money. They can afford anybody that they want already.

same as ever, Real linked to a player in form, last 2 years it was Kaka, now Ronaldo, who next Torres, Messi, Rooney?

You reckon? Are they not paying off their Glazer loans at an exorbitant rate of interest?

Yep. Look at the price hikes at Old Trafford this season, and next season. They are minted.

Debts first, then players. They are making ample to comfortably balance both.

if they want him, they will get him....but i very much doubt that he would cost more than £60mill.

Id hate the thought of Utd with £50m let alone £100m

they could buy Messi and Benzema with that much

La Sexta would probably themselves be prepared to pay a big part of the transfer fee.

They would get it back if they can keep the TV deal for La Liga because of the impact Ronaldo would make.

Personally, I think United would be weaker with Ronaldo out of their team, even with £100m to cherry pick a few more players.

what if they bought Kaka and Messi with the money?

Kaka is on the way down so I wouldn't be that unhappy if United signed him and Messi is very injury prone.

I would be worried if they replaced Ronaldo with Aguero. That is probably the only player together with Torres that could replace him.

I don't think they could.

Messi coming into their team would be good, but he doesn't score as many goals as Ronaldo, so I think they'd be weaker overall. Kaka is class - but can be nullified by a decent holding midfielder, so again, I don't think he'd improve United over and above what Ronaldo brings at the moment. I can't for one minute think they'd buy the both of them.

That is bonkers. It would be like Sky chipping in to buy a player for United.

Well, it wouldn't be the first time Real got some help. Madrid have helped them out many times before because Real Madrid is huge business for the city.

Nike and Adidas for example sometimes helps out to get a player to sign for the right club by paying a part of the transfer fee.

It stands to reason that a top Nike or Adidas player joining a Nike or Adidas club would be a factor when it comes to renegotiating kit sponsorship but I very much doubt a paper-trail exists to prove that a leading sportswear manufacturer contributed directly to any transfer fee.

I was under the impression the the Glaziers took united into debt..serious debt.. am i wrong?

and if they did sell for £100 million most of that would go to pay that debt, surely!

Serious debt which they can afford to take on as they have such a huge turnover :handshake:

Real need a big name and have taken a £30 million loan to cover the amount of revenue Beckham brought in. If Ronaldo (the best player in the world and will be the most marketed player) signs for the biggest club in the world, its more money for the business that is Real Madrid and a brand new cycle begins.

You have obviously not seen him that much in Serie A this season. Lazy and uninterested in many games.

Real aint paying £100m for Ronaldo.
At the end of the day, it is down to the player, he will dictate where he plays, and if he wants off to real, where his mammy would like him to be, he will be going for alot less than £100m probably even for less than half that value.

I'd put a lot of that down to the fact that he's playing in a league that is on the way down.
