    Arsene Wenger has appealed to Arsenal fans not to sing homophobic chants about former defender Ashley Cole.


    Gunners' supporters have adapted the words of 'Ten Men Went To Mow' to poke fun at Cole, who forced newspapers to compensate him earlier this year after false suggestions that he had a homosexual relationship with a fellow Premiership footballer.


    Arsenal fans have been singing their new song since Cole's acrimonious departure to Chelsea, but Wenger has appealed for an end to the chants.


    "At Arsenal we want to ban any songs that contain bad words," said Wenger. "We don't want anything like this to happen again."

    My opinion is Wenger is just helping put the chant into the public conscious so he gets stick no matter where he goes.

    Hope we don't adopt it though. I prefer us signing about us

          I used to think he was OK but recently I've noticed that he has come out with some real self-serving ****.

          He should talk less about other teams and other clubs - I don't mind him as much then. The way his team seems to cheat (and his blindness to it) and their petulance really don't do him any credit though.

            true i thing henry sums up both sides of arsenal on one hand there football can be amazing to watch, but their smugness is to much at times i would love to punch him in the face

              I know exactly what you mean. If anyone has a right to be arrogant it's Henry but still it's extremely unattractive.

                The rubbish he and Henry talked after the Champions League final and the nonsense Wenger spouted about our Champions League win really put me off them. Bull****ters the lot of them.

                  He's said some remarkably ****tish things in the last 18 months but well said on this.

                  One of the worst songs in football is aimed at Wenger and that should stop too. The vermin at Old Trafford regularly sing, en masse, "sit down you paedophile" at him (as do Spurs fans, I think) and to me that is totally reprehensible.
