That fair play thing is a joke. If UEFA really want to use it then they shouldn't just reward individual teams for being nice. If the Prem really was the 'fairest' league then by all means give them an extra European place, but give it to a team like Villa who actually deserved it by coming sixth, instead of Fulham who only woke up with five games to go and stayed up because they were lucky enough to have three teams worse than them.

Whilst I agree in a sense Jonesie, would it be right if they gave it to the team in sixth, if they had a terrible disciplinary record?
I think it would. The league as a whole would be benefitting from being fair by having another team on the European stage. Surely however bad their disciplinary record, they would still have to be a good side. I agree it would be hypocritical if a team representing 'fairness' had had a man sent off in every game over the past season, but surely the sixth best team in the country, even if they are a load of dirty *******s, would be better able to cope with Europe than the seventeenth best team who just so happen to be nice to their mums and help little old ladies cross the road? Fulham won't even try in the UEFA Cup (a la Bolton).
