Klaas-Jan Huntelaar set to sign for Real Madrid

Ajax striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is close to a deal with Real Madrid.

Huntelaar's Italian agent, Vincenzo Morabito, revealed last night: "He is very close to Real Madrid. There is an agreement in-place which has a great chance of being completed successfully."

Real coach Bernd Schuster has made no secret of his hopes of landing Huntelaar this summer.

Why would he want to be RvN's understudy at club level as well as internationally?

Nistelrooy's nearly 32 now though so he probably thinks he can step into his shoes in the next year or two.

Yep if true he would be a Ruud replacement (insert pun here).

Whenever I've seen him play he impresses with his eye for goal, however he seems horribly ponderous and slow on the turn

Madrid dont need playmakers and people to run at defenses. They need a clinical goalscorer to take over from Ruud.

Good signing for them, and im glad he didnt go to the Mancs

Bad signing for them. They are turning into the Spanish LFC, shopping in a market of less than brilliant players. They really need Ronaldo or another BIG signing this summer.

its not a bad signing mate.

                              They will get Ronaldo hopefully.

                              -----------Huntelaar-----------

                              ------Ronaldo-------Raul--------

thats a pretty good little triangle they have if they get these guys.

Huntelaar will be there to finish chances that Ronaldo and Raul and Guti create.
