Just back from the England game and have to say that is the worst match I have seen in a long time, I am not an England fan as some know (ask Shaggy),but don't support whoever they play either. Went along tonight with my dad as we wanted to see England at Wembley as the only other time we went was the league 2 play off match a couple of months ago. Have to say Lampard is the biggest load of shit ever so is Ashley Cole and the rest aren't much better, the fans were shit the food was shit the drink was shit and the weather was shit but I still had a good time:haha:
:haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

And the answer is yes, Wes Brown is the biggest baked bean I have ever seen, I thought it was just the telly people making him more comical but I think he is more orange in the flesh if that is possible.

Redknapp wasn't impressed. Did a real number on Capello.

Harry Redknapp last night claimed Fabio Capello was 'killing Steven Gerrard' after playing him on the left wing.
The Portsmouth manager claimed it was one of the worst England performances he had seen after Joe Cole's injury-time equaliser spared Capello his first defeat at the national stadium in his final friendly before next month's World Cup qualifiers.
Redknapp, who had been one of the names linked with the job when Steve McClaren was sacked last November, said: 'That was one of the worst performances I have seen from an England team. What positives can you take from that?

Angry 'arry: Redknapp was furious with the England performance against the Czech Republic
' The second half was diabolical. They didn't look like the same players who perform week in, week out in the Premier League. What are we doing to them?
'We have one of the finest midfielders in Steven Gerrard, he plays for Liverpool and he is like Roy of the Rovers. He shoots, he scores, he tackles. He is not a left midfielder.

'It is unbelievable. He has to be in the centre. We are killing Gerrard.
'I came to Wembley full of optimism. We keep chopping and changing managers and we don't improve.
'I've not seen Fabio Capello teams play worse than that. The players did not perform. 'If Steve McClaren had been in charge of that team there would have been uproar.
'It would have gone barmy and the poor fella would have suffered like you have never seen. 'It's the same team, anyone would pick that team. If you went up to anyone in the street they would pick nine of the 11 players.'
Redknapp, who was acting as a pundit on the game for Setanta, also found support from former England head coach and McClaren assistant Terry Venables as they picked over the poor performance.
Venables, sacked along with McClaren following the national team's failure to qualify for Euro 2008 said: 'If we were experimenting a bit it would worry me less, but that seems to be his team. I only thought set pieces would win us the game.'
Former England midfielder Steve McManaman said: 'It was a very poor performance. It was one of the worst I've seen.
'There is no structure in the team and let's hope we have a lucky manager because that match could easily have ended in defeat.'
A shocked Capello responded by claiming that Gerrard was not playing on the left and went to great lengths to explain that the Liverpool midfielder was part of a three-man attack.
The England manager said: 'Gerrard's not playing on the left, I'm sorry. We played 4-3-2-1. We played Defoe, Gerrard and Rooney and three midfielders behind them.
'The position he had to play was between the line of the full backs and the midfielders. I decided before the game that Rooney and Gerrard had played only one game before this one, so I decided they would only play for one hour. I decided that before.
'I'm sorry for Mr Redknapp, because he didn't play on the left. Sorry. You'll have to ask him. He didn't play left. The movement, he went to the left and to the middle. He never played on the left.'

Eh? Stopped watching the match after about 60 minutes in (had a dying urge to investigate a long-standing chirping noise coming from me auxiliary belt), so didn't see the post match interviews.
Setanta shit stirring here?? Haha what did they say? "Fabio, what's your response to Mr Redknapps' contempt that you clearly play Gerrard in the wrong position?"
He's getting a wee bit defensive at the end there isn't he?
I'm with Rednknapp 100% on this. You simply do not shift your best player out of position to accomodate inferior players in to the team unless it really is going to progress the balance or shape.
In my opinion, and I don't believe for a minute that many, even Liverpool fans, would agree with me, Gerrard is the greatest player in the world. You do not play him on the left which is blatently where he was yesterday. Players like Gerrard aren't 10 a penny and he should be harnassing his value rather then trying to slot like likes of Lampard in to the team.
If I was England manager I would play:
Cole - Barry - Gerrard - Bentley
or
- - - - - -Rooney - - - - - - -
--------- Cole ---------------
Downing - Barry - Gerrard - Bentley
Gerrard should be central enough that he is still valuable in breaking up counter attacks but with enough freedom to get forward and move across the line. Basically free role but with responsibility to track back and not stray to the detriment of the team.
On the other hand I stopped given a shit about England a long time ago :crackoff:

It's absolutely amazing how so many so called knowledgeable football minds can have such differing interpretations of what should be a simple subject, like where a player is playing. :haha:
