I'm saying a 1-1 draw and the end of Everton's season(well apart from the cup, which they'll get knocked out of in the 3rd round by a lower league side)
would round off a bloody good week !!
Can't see them winning this one if Liege play as good as they have been doing up until now. And it will of course be our fault that they are knocked out :eyebrow:
Bitters:shake:
I would rather eat my own shit than support Neverton, they cheat and dive and club their way through matches, fucking dreadful football
If the Yak and Saha could stay on their feet instead of falling over at every available chance, and the midfield manage a pass more than 3 ft, they might stand a chance

I hope Liege really do a fucking job on them, humiliate them big time

28 mins: Everton have made a tactical change - Arteta and Cahill have swapped positions.
That Moyes  You guys know if he could be persuaded to join us?
50 mins: A dour five mins with a Leige foul throw being the only worthy highlight.
Hahaha the "ole's" are out from the Liege fans

Boooooo :miffed:
booooo indeed, 1-1 now. ah well even funnier to see them go out on away goals
Shock! Horror! Saha injured!!!
67: GOAL for Everton!!! An absolute shocker from the Leige keeper. Aragon fumbles the ball twice and Jagielka is on hand in the pen area to hit an equaliser

The co commentator was an idiot. Ratcliffe, was it?
Free kick awarded to Liege, the replay clearly shows the everton player with a handful of shirt...so Ratcliffe comes out with 'well i thought he got a toe to the ball there'.
Then Liege are penalised for a foul throw and the ref is clearly seen raising his foot off the ground while simulating a foul throw, so it's clear the decision is made because the player didnt keep both feet on the deck.
Ratcliffe: "He's penalised for taking it from the wrong place there"
Unbelieveable. :0

I don't usually bother with these internet forums but I felt compelled to after the farcical European "performance" this season.
Moyes has got to go, there I said it, as much as I like him he, and it pains me to say it. he's taken us as far as he can, we need some fresh ideas on the pitch, we couldn't string two passes together last night. If something isn't done soon, we're going to find ourselves in deep trouble before we know it. Sorry David, you've served us well, but it's time for a fresh start with a new boss. I would even contemplate bringing back one of the old bosses, Howard Kendall could do a job for us I think, or even Joe Royle, havign said that Walter Smith isn't doing to bad at Rangers is he?
What a week, out of the UEFA cup, lost to that red shite at home and out of the league cup (which i thought we had a good chance at this season!)

The game has moved on a long long way since Kendall mate, there's no way he would cut it in the premiership. Walter Smith couldn't cut it either. face fact we where a great team ONCE not anymore you need money and lots of it.
Posted by: James Patrick Oct 3 2008, 03:09 PM
Can you give us the name of the person/manager you'd like us to get in instead ?
Please think carefully on this - who can we attract who is A/ better than Moyes and B/ will be prepared to work within our financial constraints.
A mate of mine just wants him sacked but has no idea who to bring in - effectively thinks that we'll never know who we can get until we get shut - he has used the argument of Arsenal bringing Wenger in which is fair enough if Bill Kenwright can get someone like that.
Personally I think Moyes is the best man for the job at the minute.

got this off toffee talk lol
what pisses me off about this the most is why do we get drawn against the toughest teams?? look at all the teams in the premier league, they all made through to the group stage because they played weaker teams than liege, and yet we finish 5th and have to play the toughest competition, its just not fair
and the same goes for getting drawn against blackburn in the league cup..... knowing our luck we'll probably get drawn against man utd for the fa cup.
I do think it's a bit harsh we drew Liege to be fair - I mean we finished 5th in the prem and we get a team that's only just been knocked out of the Champs league by Liverpool, but Villa finish below us and get some bulgarian team nobody has ever heard of, and Spurs get in via the mickey mouse club and get Warsaw who are nowhere near the quality of Standard. Surely there should be some kind of seeding there?!
Plus Liege should have been down to 10 after 20 mins. Who knows how that would have affected the game - certainly Defour played a big part in their first goal, and they definitely woudn't have been as dangerous on the counter, so the penalty incident probably wouldn't have happened either.
Having said all that, if we think we're good enough to win the Uefa cup we should be beating teams like Standard Liege for fucks sake! The teams performances this season have been an absolute disgrace.
Conceding at least 2 goals in ALL BUT ONE game this season is completely fucking unacceptable
LMFAO So it is our fault again LOL

got this off toffee talk lol
what pisses me off about this the most is why do we get drawn against the toughest teams?? look at all the teams in the premier league, they all made through to the group stage because they played weaker teams than liege, and yet we finish 5th and have to play the toughest competition, its just not fair
and the same goes for getting drawn against blackburn in the league cup..... knowing our luck we'll probably get drawn against man utd for the fa cup.
Fucking crying like bitches. They should stop feeling sorry for themselves and just get relegated.

Fkin 'ell cadmium, do you drink in the Sefton on Carr lane East?
Nah not me mate. i just like winding them up big time, it's just too easy!
I would just like to point out - reference the bitters arguement about the draw and UEFA cup seedings -
Standard Liege - champions of their league, unlucky to draw against one of the strongest sides in Europe for the CHampions League Qualifiers, and as a result narrowly missed out on the group stages - so into the UEFA cup they entered, were it seems only fair that they were seeded into an easier draw against much lesser competition such as Everton, were they sailed through. That seems like a pretty fair draw to me. Everton should be grateful that they managed to draw against such a big team - like the smaller clubs are made up if they draw a premiership team in the fa cup. Everton were lucky to draw such a prestigous tie for their qualifier and play against a team who are looking like potential winners of the competiton - it was a great experience for them
