That could be a smashing team. Imagine Welsh, Scottish and England players playing under the same banner. :D

What non-English player would currently get into the team? I'm not saying that English players are particularly great, it's just no other names really stand out, unlike a few years ago. Giggs? Probably. Bellamy? Can't see it myself. James McTwatten? Er...

Have you got an easier question neil?

Sorry. :oh:

I was hoping a straightforward, old-fashioned, completely futile, "what if" discussion about football would be a comfort after the strange and nefarious goings-on of the last few days. :sigh:

None of those players would qualify as they will be too old. The players must be under 23 years old. Though you are allowed 3 players over that age. The players that are picked for the olympics will probably not be people you know that well at the minute

The other problem is that Scotland and Wales (I think) dont want their players to be in a GB olympic team as it may encourage FIFA to make a ruling that means that the countries in GB cant enter seperate teams in the world cup

Thanks but actually I know that. That's why I said "currently" which was an attempt to conjure up the idea that if the Olympics were tomorrow, what would the team be.

Of course, it's impossible to predict the 2012 team bearing in mind most of them will be under-17's right now.

I think its a good idea, especially as it helps to give youngsters in the country good experience and confidence, and that's good!

Never been a fan of footballing politics and i'd cheer on a British team without my nationality in it.

I still think this one will be a non-starter due to all the politics involved.

For an hour after that game we felt like Brazil.

We are actually world beaters, and only bother turning up for the big boys. Just can't be arsed with all the qualifying malarkey. If the World Cup was hosted in NI we'd be nailed on to win it, just like.....:crackoff:

Shaun Maloney, Kris Boyd, and Theo Walcott would definitely be in from Scotland and England IMHO. Not sure about any of the young Welsh internationals.
