Four footballers quizzed over 'gang sex attack' in showers By Andy Rudd, Mirror.co.uk 4/12/2008
Police have arrested four Football League youth side players over claims that a team-mate was subjected to a sickening sex attack.
Hospital staff tipped off police while the 17-year-old Coca-Cola League One club player was being treated, after he was allegedly attacked with an object in showers.
It’s believed that horseplay between the players got out of hand.
Cops quizzed four players at the club – which cannot be named for legal reasons - and last night three were released on police bail while a fourth was freed and told that he would not face charges.
The club said in a statement: “We are aware there has been an alleged incident. We will assist and communicate with the relevant authorities.”
