Current Barca team is the best I've seen :handshake: I'm not as old as you though

Brazil - 1982 World Cup
Football from another planet, and pioneers of the underrated 2-5-3 formation.
Cemented Zico as my favourite ever player other than Kenny.
26 years on and I can still recite the teamsheet without a thought:
Waldir Peres, Junior, Oscar, Julio Cesar, Leandro, Cerezo, Falcao, Socrates, Zico, Eder, Serginho.
If they hadn't had such a useless lump at centre forward (Serginho), a man who made Tony Cascarino look like the epitome of mobility and deftness of touch, they'd have been recognised as greater than the 1970 team by now. Oh, and if they'd realised that defending when the opposition have the ball in your half is sometimes a necessity rather than a sign of moral weakness.
It might not have carried the same cultural significance as the wreckage of Buddy Holly's plane, but to me that defeat against a grimly cynical and unworthy Italian team was the day the fantasy football died. Kind of.

not the most entertaining but most effective - AC Milan team from a couple of years back(cca. 2001-2006)...it was creat to watch how every player knew what was his job, and did it to the best level.
something i'd like rafa to emulate at liverpool(tbh at times he has)

The Milan team of the mid/late 80's were entertaining.
The Barca team which had Romario, Stoichkov et al were also entertaining.

How did I forget them!! Although I was very young I remember the goals vividly and they were a fantastic team. :handshake:
I also liked the way Newcastle played under Keegan in THAT infamous season they should really have won the league.
Rafas Valenica team.
Villareal from 2004-06 - they were awesome when they had Riquelme.
The Barca team of 3/4 years ago

Brazil 1982 World Cup team as already mentioned. Absolute fantasy football badly let down by no.9 Serginho. If they had a half-decent striker they'd have thrashed everyone in that tournament.
A close second would be the great Barca 'dream team' of 90s with Romario, Koeman, Stoichkov, Guardiola, Laudrup, Hagi, Bakero etc.

Quality outfit, to be fair they could really turn on the style also, that 1st half in istanbul and when they dumped united out of it a few years ago they played some great stuff with the likes of great players like kaka and pirlo really on their game! At the minute barca are a joy to watch! Messi would be in my top 3 players ive watched of my generation along with zizou and ronaldo (the fat one)

We werent meant to include Liverpool teams. And it was 5-0.
Arrigo Sacchi's Milan side of the late 80s and early 90s were pretty awesome. Not in terms of entertainment value, but they were machine-like in their dominance.
Although the likes of Gullit & Van Basten helped on the entertainment front too.
In fact, werent they the last team to retain the European Cup? About 20 years ago i think, they won it in 1989 and then in 1990 too. Awesome team.
