View Full Version : Starting XI outside big 4
Ok people, this has got me thinking - name a starting XI using any player and formation you wish, with players from outside the big 'four' - also name five subs if you can
so far i have gone for the below but i'm sure someone can do better :D
do you think u could make a team good enough to challenge for the title
-------------Given----------------
Johnson------Jagileka--------Lauresen-------Warnock
----------PArker-----Barry--------
Robinho-------Cahill----------Young
--------------Crouch--------------
subs
Friedel
Lescott
Ireland
Milner
Keane :D
What about the Arsenal team :p
In before Parker for me but if not then has to at least make the bench.
mm, - see i really like scott parker, think he is a great player who really fucked his career up going to chelsea - i reckon he is a much better all round player than arterta, who main attribute would be dead ball deliveries, but with young and barry in the side he is not needed.
ok, looking on the bench - i wouldn't lose either the keeper or the defender, and you would want a striker (went with keane to get a reaction but thread failing thus far)
So it would be either Ireland or Milner for Arteta........For me milner covers both wide areas so his versatility keeps him in meaning it's a straight battle between Ireland or Arteta, and on the form Ireland has been i'd stick with him - so screw u arteta u ponce, u didn't make the cut :D

thoguht about Santa Cruz myself, but he just hasn't been at the races this season obv cause he isn't happy with being at blackburn - if he isn't a one hit wonder, then i think he would be a good player for us.

Replace Arteta with McCartney from Sunderland and Barry with Neill from West Ham.
Maybe play Man City's Richards there too in a five man midfield.

Good team. How many of them would get into our first XI? Young, Robinho, Bridge and Johnson are the names that spring to mind.

Robinho/Young guaranteed would, Johnson would if we want to play Spain'esque I'd also take Barry/Arteta/Cahill (i hate that bastard) over Lucas, the Elephant man would be a decent replacement for Hyypia and possibly Agger.

I play 5-a-side quite a lot, but I really don't think I'm good enough - cheers anyway. :)

Best would have been better and more original. ;)
in fact thinking about it, didn't paul harrison play for liverpool, he was youth keeper iirc and in the squad - i remember signing lennon as always cause on the game he was class for right wing, then noticied I had a Harrison, so snapped up mcartney before going on 6 month search for a ringo or a starr or a starkey :haha:

Picking an entire club to sit on the bench seems like cheating. As for playing an entire country in midfield...

What can I say Neil, I'm a greedy bastard.
Plus I was trying to be patriotic by picking my entire country in midfield.
Can't beat a bit of misguided patriotism eh?

Given's that GOOD he can repel all attempted counters. Nuff said.
