Yawn, that's your point here? Other than the 07/08 season you can say he wasn't able to bring the players in he wanted to.

And out of them only 13 are worthy of the red shirt of LFC and of those 13, 3 are no longer with us - IMO

            Whats he recouped?
nobody has said he hast spent but it works out at approx 6million a player and our squad has some genuine world class players in it.

The state our squad was on was horrendous we can look to the future with genuine hope with our squad and youngsters now.

Out of those players listed only two were high profile disappointments Pennant and Morientes, not a bad percentage.

Which players were available on the market during the same periods should we have bought instead?

I'm not one who believes Rafa is faultless or that he's had no money to spend, however to claim he's had free reign on purchases is naive.

These types of threads with transfer figures are always fundamentally flawed, yours even more than normal!

No mate, that would constitute a fair and balanced assesment.

This on the other hand, is the usual agenda driven bile that's become synonymous with that wretched little dipstick Joe King.

But mate scum can spend £30M at the drop of a hat Berbatov,Ferdinand and Rooney etc.
I can't see how you reckon Rafa has had such amazing backing.
Their the ones who we compete with 9 times out of 10 if you finish above utd you win the league.
                        We need serious funds.

Do you know what would have made it a decent post Joe, if you put the rival managers net spend as well and compare who is (was) a flop and who is (was) a success.

I can tell you one from each rival team at the top of me head. I cant be arsed to get the true figures so anyone feel free to correct me if Im slightly out by a million or two

                            Fergie -
                            28m - Veron

                            Wenger -
                            18m - Reyes

                            Mourinho -
                            22m - Malouda

There is obviously a host of more screw ups but I cant be arsed to find them

Name one manager with a 100% record in the transfer market. Even a 50% record is doing well.

There are other things to batter Rafa with (if you wish), his record in the transfer market isn't one of them.
