In all respect to Carragher, we always knew he was an excellent defender, just that he was lacking creativity, which is required for a fullback.

Sadly, Djimi (while having some admiral traits) isn't an accomplished defender, he simply makes too many mistakes to be considered one. He isn't dominant (like a Hyypia) and he cannot carry the ball out of defence. His one saving grace is his pace, and ability to make last-ditch tackles.

And let's not go there, with the OG against Burnley!!! :D

I agree he is clearly NOt a left back. But I remember the one game last year Djimi played at CB, was it Luton (FA cup?) Poor Carra looked white by the end of it. Ultimately Traore appears to have all the attributes but just makes too many mistakes to trust at CB for a club of our stature. Similar to Titus Bramble really, no matter how well they're playing the whole crowd is just waiting for that one terrible gaff :rolleyes:
