Striker 'assaulted girlfriend'

PREMIERSHIP star Lomana LuaLua was arrested early yesterday for allegedly beating up his fiancee in a 2am row.
The Portsmouth striker, 25, was held by police for 17 hours after neighbours complained of "screaming and shouting". He was released without charge.
Police also quizzed LuaLua's French speaking girlfriend Natalie, 20, using an interpreter. LuaLua's uncle Ruben last night played down the row, saying: "He did not kill no one - he had an argument with his girlfriend."
And his agent Brad Warner added: "It's no big deal. Natalie does not want to press charges. They are still engaged." Friends say the Democratic Republic of Congo star has been living with Natalie, who is also Congolese, at his waterfront apartment in Portsmouth for a year. But he has had a tangled lovelife - fathering three children by different women.
One friend said: "Natalie is his longterm girlfriend but he does put himself around. None of his children are hers.
"Natalie lives with him but when he's clubbing it's with his male friends, not her. Girls swoon over him because he's a star."
The £20,000-a-week striker, a born-again Christian, was also questioned by police in March after an alleged rape at a hotel where a room had been booked in his name. No charges were brought.
In January, his son Jesus, two, died while he was playing for the Congo in the African Nations Cup.
