I got it right. Just as I had predicted. God I'm soooo clever.

That's fair enough - you can argue all you like about who should have been placed where, (I would have had Billy Liddell ahead of Rushie, for example)
but that's not a bad top 5!! I cannot wait to see the last clip in full - whoever has the power, please make this available to us mere mortals!!

A great series by the Offal - thoroughly compelling.

        Wasn't hard was it though.
When Hansen was named at 12, I scribbled down what I thought would be the top 11.
        This is what I had:

        11 Clemence
        10 Carragher
        9 Hughes
        8 Souness
        7 Fowler
        6 Barnes
        5 Keegan
        4 Rush
        3 Liddell
        2 Gerrard
        1 Dalglish

I was wrong about the order, but what a group of legends!!

          Mine would have been
          Dalglish
          Liddell
          Hughes
          Gerrard
          Rush
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

John Barnes is one of the greatest players I have ever seen.

Imagine a midfield of Barnes, Momo, Xabi and Stevie.

                -----------Clemence----------------

                ---------Hughes--Carra-------------

                -Liddell--Gerrard--Souness--Barnes--

                --Keegan--Rush---Fowler--Dalglish--

Well if we put that top 11 into a team we can have the lesser known 2-4-4 formation. Would kill up front, but I imagine it'd ship a lot of goals.

Yeah, i really found it hard to decide on Gerrard. PArtly because we have never won a league title, I guess the Champions LEague success and the FA cup have lifted him in the list a good bit. Sounness is always worthy of any great players list.

Teams actually did play formations similar to that at a time.

People forget though, that the series is cleverly called "Players Who Shook The Kop".
It's not "Liverpool's Greatest Players". The legacy of Souness the player has unfortunately been tainted by the legacy of Souness the manager.
Gerrard has also profitted from being a player that every single voter has seen play on several occasions.

What would tip it for me in Gerrard's favour would be his important goals at crucial times (having scored in every major club final is an incredible feat which is unsurpassed) and the fact that he was not surrounded by the class of player that Souness was.

I wouldn't have complained at all had Souness gotten a top 5 place though, because he was sublime, as were pretty much all of the top 20.
Our glittering array of past stars can only be matched by very, very few clubs.

                          Stevie G could play right-back!!
