Sven Set For Top English Club? – No, it's Notts County!

    nope, notts county

Sven-Goran Eriksson is on the verge of becoming the new Notts County manager, according to reports circulating on Tuesday morning.

The Times website is reporting that the former England manager will be named as the County boss by the club's new owners, Arab consortium Munto Finance.

The paper reports: 'The new owners see the appointment as the first step of their 10-year plan, which they hope will take the club into the upper echelons of the Premier League.'

Eriksson has been out of a job since being sacked as Mexico boss in April, and was strongly linked with the Portsmouth job earlier this summer.

Munto took control of League Two side County last week, and if the reports are true will replace current boss Ian McParland with Eriksson later on

        Eriksson holds Notts County talks
        [BBC]

Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson is in talks with Notts County about becoming director of football, BBC Radio Nottingham understands.

The Magpies, who were recently taken over by a Middle-Eastern consortium, and Eriksson's agent Athole Still are refusing to confirm his involvement.

Earlier newspaper reports had linked Eriksson to the club's managerial role.

The 61-year-old, who spent five years in charge of England, was sacked as coach of Mexico in April.

BBC Radio Nottingham's Colin Slater said: "Claims that Notts are to appoint Eriksson as manager are wide of the mark.

"It is far more likely Eriksson will be brought in as director of football."

Ian McParland has been kept on as manager of the Magpies under the new regime.

However, former Manchester City manager Eriksson is not the only big name to be linked with the job.

Slater added: "My understanding is that Eriksson is not the first high-profile personality to be linked with the newly created post as director of football.

"Former England manager Glenn Hoddle has also been in the frame."

Following Eriksson's dismissal in Mexico, he had been linked with a return to the Premier League with Portsmouth.
"The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

          How the mighty fall
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The women in Nottingham are renowned for being pure filth and it's also allegedly a place where women outnumber blokes on nights out by about 2:1 or something. Not sure whether it's a myth but it's quite widely known. No doubt Eriksson's found out.

                    Maybe it is 6:1...can't remember

I think it was based on the lace industry or something? I've never noticed it when I've been there.

Sadly it is a myth. It may have been true-ish once but not now.

Anyway, Sven doesn't need to bother about a favourable ratio. Women find him irresistible apparently. He's sex on lifts.
                      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
