No doubt there are a good few lovers of the fruit machines on the site so i thought i'd make a thread where we can share hints, tips etc.

If the mods could make it a sticky, that would be great.

Here are a couple of links to guides, tips, forums, etc. for starters:

http://www.fruitmachineindex.co.uk/fruit_site/barcrest.shtml

http://www.clubmachines.co.uk/examples.htm

My favourite machines would be the Barcrest variety, namely:

- Psycho Cash Beast
- Kingkebab
- Temple of Treasure

Feel free to ask me about them and i'll see if i can help you out and post up your own little money spinners :)

Anyone else have any mates who spend all night at the machines explaining why they're putting pound after pound in, because "its falling to the back and its ready to pay..."

Your gambling threads are classic nic, keep them coming.

Can I suggest one for your next thread? Do one on the advantages of betting on teams greater than 6/1, as the odds are great and "Nics law" states they have to win sometime.

ah yes, that old one. It's not true. The reason the coin falls to the back is because the "hopper" is full. This is the device that stores the money ready for payout. Some machines take notes and tokens aswell so that money is also taken into consideration, therefore the hopper may be full but the machine nowhere near the jackpot and vice versa...

The machines run on a programme. When they take in a sufficient profit, then and only then, will they give out the Jackpots (usually in streaks of 2 or 3 aswell).

Really? Can't be arsed with them myself. Not my idea of a night out.

Each to their own but I think they're quality even if you do lose money most of the time.

Exactly. It does amaze me sometimes though when my mate knows exactly whats coming next, but he's still got blinkers on to when the machine starts reaping back, even though everyone is telling him to cut his losses, he's always adamant, that the big payout is "nearly there"

I love Fruit Machines, but not to the state of going out on a Friday and Saturday night, and staying on them all night. I like to oggle girls and have a laugh with mates.

But I am one of those, that after ploughing it with a hefty amount, I have to stay on it, to get 'atleast' some of it back. And I have also turned down Jackpot's to get 'Mega Streaks' instead.

I avoid all 'Red' machine as I think the gameplay is shite. And if possible, I prefer machines that are not Hi-Lo and at least have a game board.

I never touched a fruit machine until i went to Vegas.
Must have spent around $600 in six days on them. Won about $500 back.

Now that i'm back home i've got zero urge to play them again.

All rather strange.

we call them "pokies" in australia.

They have single handidly ruined nearly every pub in the land.:shake:

Theres not a more depressing image of an old granny whittling her pension away playing these mind numbingly boring games all night, then when opening up the pub the next morning seeing the same old lady ready for another day of gambling.:sigh:

If im going to waste my money i'd prefer the geegee's or dishlickers any day of the week.....at least you get a rush of excitment when they are head to head down the straight. Pokies are just flashing lights and pushing the same buttons repeatedly.

Sad that so many people love them:sigh:
