Not sure if I have speelt boro correctly.
He's available on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Supposed to be a decent young player,no?
Should we sign him?

Think I missed an o between the b and r
He's out of contract at the end of this season eh?
Only seen a couple of matches and some MOTD highlights of him but he looks very decent. Worth a punt on a freebie - English too which is helpful towards the quotas next year.
Scored tonight.
Highly rated but he's never caught my eye particularly.
Quite a few teams were looking at him
Considering the home grown quota things is coming into force I would imagine he will find it easy to get a good deal at a big club
He's still young & has a lot of potential imo. Maybe Rafa could develop him into a decent player who knows & the fact that he would be a free would mean there is no risk as we could sell him on for at least a couple of million if it didn't work out...

Ha ha - Real Madrid were linked with him last January. He's decent

Johnson and Johnson - As slick as baby oil?
Would be funny if we signed him for the right wing. White Johnson dribbling down the wing but being overlapped by a faster Black Johnson

:shake:
Terrible joke.
:crackoff:
Good player mind. Would be well worth the punt if he's on a free, especially with all these English player quotas that are coming in.

We've been linked with him before, I think Rafa rates him.
On a free I'd definitely take him, he's better than El Zhar who's really our only backup rw if Kuyt was ever injured. Not that Kuyt isn't made of kryptonite, but anyway.

He is left footed but can play on either side.
I'd have him our squad ahead of Babel or El Zhar.

Definitely seen him play on the right. I think Mr Musa is correct, left footed but plays either wing.
i'd agree - i'd have him over el zhar and babel - one thing, it's an extra english player in the side.
Looks a decent player. Good balance, excellent left foot too. Could be one to watch.

i'm sure i heard that he was played on right wing
as downing was used on the left.

A good prospect we should certainly consider a move for him.
Incidentally isn't there compensation to be paid for out of contract players if they are under a certain age (24??)

Sign him up Rafa.23 apps 12 goals
Would rafa really go for him?
My head says no.
I'd like this lad here.
He's free at the end of the season. English, young, talented. Nothing to lose if we get him in on a Bosman.
Haven't seen much of him for 'Boro, but he's always impressed me for the England U21s.
He's certain to leave Boro at the end of the season. I would guess that because of his age Boro will get some compensation. He would be a good addition to our squad. He's pacey and skillful

He tried to buy him before a couple of seasons ago iirc.
I know a few Boro fans and they have always rated him higher than Downing. He can play on the left and right and hes younger than Downing and has far more potential. Downing is just a crosser just a ball player, Johnson is a dribbler and far more direct. Rafa was after Downing on a number of occasions last season and the season before and, with our "wingers" that all cut inside and clutter up the middle of the park someone like Adam Johnson flying down the left beating the fullback will be a breath of fresh air tbh.
