There are a few candidates: Pardew, Southgate and Roeder.
My money is on Roeder. The man is so un-inspiring it's unreal.
Yet another fine mess for Freddie Shepherd to sort out.
Pardew for me, can't seem to turn it around. They have the biggest problems.

Glenn Roeder surely.
The **** was asleep at the wheel this summer. He didn't buy even one defender, when they needed at least 4. Their defence is a joke. In fact their club is a joke for hiring him in the first place. What's next?; they'll hire Ged?
No chance, not Dowie. They would be CRAZY to sack him so soon. He had a tough job and will surely be given a lot more time.
Roeder is the likely one for me. He's been in the job long enough and yet it's the same old story for the Geordies.
Although I think Pardew may quit soon.

Can't see the geordies sacking roeder as there's nol-one to take over at the moment except maybe Curbs.
OK, maybe roeder replaced by Curbs :handshake:

Yup, I think Curbs is waiting for a big(ish) club, or at least a club with potential, and he'll end up there.
I know - Souness to Newcastle, Curbishley to Charlton. Sorted.

yeah but is newcastle still an attractive offer for managers

a lot depends on who is in charge at West Ham.
Am still convinced he didnt take the signings of the two Argentinians with open arms and that outside influences are taking hold.
Would be a big shame for him to lose his job

yes he is a good manager i read that the talkover could happen this week
Southgates only got a month left of the trial period he was allowed by the prem chairmen to prove himself so it may well be him

Hope Pardew turns it around. I like West Ham - a little bit anyway.
Dowie was ALWAYS gonna struggle following in Curbs footsteps. THen add in the Djimi factor........... he's doomed I tells yer.
Still think Pigeon Toes Roeder will be the first to go. Maybe Shearer can take over - the same way Southgate has at Boro........
Coleman will survive also.
Talking of clubs in turmoil - Leeds have lost 7 of their last 9 games and are still looking for a manager.........

Roeder
Southgate
Pardew/Dowie
In that order, IMO
But Roeder is?
I don't think he is a great manager but he is a very good coach and last season did do a great job with Newcastle, when he took over they were a complete shamble. People go on about how he failed to sort the defence but when you look at their squad they have plenty of half decent defenders, not really top 10 PL class but could be moulded into a reasonable unit and no fit forwards and only one central midfielder.
His two main signings were Martins and Duff. One filled the obvious striker problem and the other seemed to go through because the price was so cheap no one could resist.
I think Southgate is the most likely to go early.
I like Roeder and think he is a good man with a lot of tactical knowledge and a good football brain, lets not forget what he achieved at West Ham the year before he took them down. Unfortunately I think he is hampered by the Johnny Big Bollocks mentality that most Newcastle players have and fans expect. Its well known that the reason that people go there is for the payday and little else and the ultimate consequence is a team of playboys who would rather play as individuals and fail then contimplate a team performance, see Luque, Dyer and Emre for reference.
If he shifts some of the dross and gets some pros in he will do a good job. Possibly win the Coca Cola Cup or something

I wonder if WHAM and TOON fans agree with your assessment?

Probably Roeder.
Newcastle haven't changed manager for a week or two.
I hear that St Mike wants to commit himself to them for life. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

He started exceptionally well at West Ham, and when he took over they were in a bit of a shambles. He didn't cover himself in glory in the next season and a bit but I think large parts of that was down to bad luck with injuries - the PL is hard when your only forward available is a very young Defoe.
He has done as well as anyone could expect at Newcastle. I wouldn't trust their fans judgement as they clearly want miracles.
If he wasn't so new I think Dowie would be looking at the chop. Haven't seen anything good from charlton this year.
i cant believe newcastle havent got curbishley yet
it shows how good he is that charlton are now a bottom side
dowie will be gone in 2 games, watch

Odds have to be shortening on Pardew and Pearce at the minute. I feel sorry for both of them but I think Pearce has had more control of what has happened at his club so has to be held fully responsible.
At the start of the season I thought Man City and Fulham were the only two teams to be weaker than last year. Looks like I was right in at least one pre-season prediction then - I failed however to spot that we were going to be abysmal despite a better squad.
Pardew has three games according to a Hammer frine dof mine. It's a shem if this is true as it seems to me he has been fucked over by the club bringing in the Argies and the take over talk.

They're half a team, they have been since the days of Keegan. They are proof that there is no truth in the theory "the best form of defence is attack".
The man I feel sorry for most of all is Shay Given. A class goalkeeper who has a bunch of Fraggles in front of him.
At the minute the problem seems to be that Newcastle have to field a team made entirely of wingers each match.

this agrie bollocks is about as much bollocks as our problems are related to rotation.
mascherano is second choice in midfield and he plays tevez on the left when he plays him if he plays him at all, how on earth can two players ruin a good side?
i think if he would make tevez his number one guy upfront and started to use his quality things would be different, pardew just can't handle it...
