View Full Version : Carl Medjani
Considering that Houllier claimed he had beaten off competition from Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Manchester United to sign Medjani and that Slur Alex even invited him (Medjani) over to view the scum's training complex in February 2003, what the hell went wrong?
Which is the strangest Houllier-signing saga: Medjani or Diarra?
Diarra for me - for stranger, made more so by his French Caps and that he didn't want to try and force his way into our midfield.
Obviously not got the right 'mentality.'

Ahhh Houllier. If most of his French signings lived up the their billings then we'd of had some bloody team.

Ah yes, quite correct Cacodemon...
[quote]South African striker Sean Dundee has been labelled in certain quarters as quite possibly the worst player to have ever donned the red of Liverpool.

Thing is, he had an absolute stinker with us - yet I still think we got

Indeed, to only lose
so is medjani still on our books?
He is indeed. Think he's being loaned out again for the next year. Knowing Houllier, he's probably on a twenty-year contract. :grr:

mmm... i wonder why we can't get shut on a full time basis? unless we don't want to and see how he progresses? he can't be on big money and i can't imagine we'd want anything more than a nominal fee. it's a strange one for sure.
it must be a nightmare for all these ex-houllier fringe players. not knowing where they'll be one year to the next. it must affect your ability to make an impact.

Some of them never had an ability to start with - that was the problem :)
I imagine it's hard on your family and social life too - like being an army type stationed here and there. Can't be good for your self-esteem either, feeling you're not fully wanted and just wanting to feel you belong.
I'm welling up.......

I'm sure for a while we employed Willie Mackay as head scout and he dumped all his duds on us.
Dont think that its french players that Rafa dislikes, just crap ones.
Only problem is most of Houlliers were french and crap.

GH wasnt too bad, but he is not good enough to bring us the title.

it seems he's gone ......
Lorient: Arrival of Medjani
Loaned out by Liverpool to Metz last season, Carl Medjani signed a 3 year contract with Lorient on Wednesday evening. The young central defender has already played for the Merlus (Lorient) in the 2004-2005 season.
Carl Medjani (21 years old), French youth team player, played 25 matches with Lorient in 04/05.
Undisclosed Fee.

Undisclosed fee? Next to nothing then :)
Embarrassment is the only reason I can think of when clubs leave a fee undisclosed.
Anyway, I hope he does well at his new club.

Good luck to the lad. What odds would you get that the French team in a couple of years has him, Diarra, Pongolle and LeTallec in it?

Liverpool have always been a club of charity. We sign players on big money, often overprized, and we sell ours on the cheap like in the fish market. Not to mention that we also have the habit of donating points to teams at the bottom of the table as well.
