I know it doesn't matter but I thought he was lucky to stay on the pitch tonight, he conceded quite a few fouls after being booked and gave away the penalty.
I think he's very overrated, mostly based on his freekicks rather than his ability to play his position effectively

In many ways the joy of it is that he is clearly fairly talented - he just rates himself as much better than he is. His concentration on the job of defending is roughly as good as a young Titus Bramble after a spliff but he recovers just enough to make himself look a decent player. I can't believe people still go on about how we should have signed him.

Hmm, strange, I've always rated Bale as a decent player fit enough for any side :confused: I even thought he played well against us. Just my opinion of course.

Bale's really pushed on since he got his place back in the Spurs side, he's now starting to fulfill his early promise.
He's still a thick, posing cunt though.

Hmmm. I don't think he can defend at all. He's worse than Insua. Obviously good with the ball and this advanced role seems to suit him much better. Been outstanding lately.

I see no reason why Glen J cannot perform a similar role to Bale on the right wing next season

Some full-backs, like Bale obviously, can make the switch but it doesn't always follow that a good attacking full-back will make a good winger. Dani Alves is always mediocre or worse when I've seen him playing the advanced role - he's so much better making the runs from deeper as a full-back.
