This has got to be the most laughable transfer going on at the moment.

Britain's most expensive footballer going on Loan to Santos because he can't get in the team at City :haha::haha::haha:

What an absolute loser!

Unsettled Manchester City striker Robinho underlined his desire to leave Eastlands on Sunday and stated a loan return to Santos is '90 per cent certain'.

The Brazil international was quoted by Radio Bandeirantes over the weekend as saying that he was set to leave City because he would not be guaranteed regular football by Roberto Mancini in a World Cup year.

City's manager announced after Sunday's victory over Scunthorpe in the FA Cup that he expected Robinho to stay in England during the January transfer window.

But British-record signing Robinho, who started and scored against Scunthorpe, is also quoted as saying on Sunday in an interview with TV Globo that all that is left to negotiate with Santos is the time period of his loan.

He said: "It's all good progress. Santos are only looking at the length of contract because they want a year and City want only six months but I think it is 90% sure."

Robinho, who has also been linked with Benfica, added: "Santos are talking to the staff of City and I think that within three days we can define it all."

The former Real Madrid player's time at City has proved disappointing since he arrived from Spain in a £32.5million deal in September 2008.

He has been criticised for failing to show full commitment by some City supporters and news of his desire to quit the club is likely to further damage his popularity.

Robinho, who turns 26 on Monday, said in his interview with Radio Bandeirantes: "The coach was very sincere with me and said that I would play every other match.

"I told him that would not be interesting to me, it's a World Cup year."

I went to a few Confed Cup games here in South Africa last year to watch Brazil & Robinho is the most selfish player I've ever seen - 9 times out of 10 he won't pass to a team mate, but instead try be the hero. Like a lot of footballers lots of talent but no brains imo...

You have to admire City for signing 3 Brazilian flops in a row. It always ends in tears at City.

Manchester City have confirmed that they have reached an agreement to loan Robinho to Santos for a period of six months.

It is understood that the Brazilian will now return to his homeland on Sunday, with City announcing Santos will assume all of the player's contract terms, including wages and bonuses.

Robinho stated prior to Sunday's FA Cup victory at Scunthorpe, in which he started and scored, that he was unhappy he was not guaranteed first-team football under Roberto Mancini in a World Cup year.

Manager Mancini wanted the British-record signing of predecessor Mark Hughes to stay at Eastlands but omitted the former Real Madrid man from Wednesday's Carling Cup semi-final defeat at Manchester United.
Criticism

The move was viewed as evidence that Robinho, who had previously stated he was '90 per cent certain' to join former club Santos, was set to leave and the £32.5million man's temporary exit has now become reality.

Mancini told City's official website: "Robinho is someone who needs to be playing regularly and we wish him well for the period of his loan."

Robinho joined City on the final day of the transfer window of summer 2008 but, despite a bright start, his career stalled at Eastlands and the 26-year-old has come in for criticism from fans who have been left underwhelmed by his attitude.

Speculation in South America has suggested that, having agreed to the deal, City will demand the first option on Santos forward Neymar in the future.

City have also yet to give up hope of signing Middlesbrough winger Adam Johnson before Monday's transfer deadline, despite the Championship club snubbing an offer.

Totally agree. He's fucking shit.

Pretty funny watching Sky's desperate coverage of the transfer window. 12 months ago they creamed their pants on deadline day when City signed Robinho and United signed Berbatov, both for about £32m. Total fucking flops the pair of 'em :haha::haha:

But still if you believed the press you'd think the worst transfer fuck up....probably ever, is Alberto Aquilani. What a joke.
