I've only just noticed these 80 plus numbers?

What the heck is going on?

I think I'd be well cheesed off, if I got told that I'm the new 83.

Number 9 has to go to a striker, it doesn't look right in any other position.

Like when Diouf played in midfield with it.

Well, I say "played"...

Glad that Robbie has got number 9.

Strange that Reina didn't get number 1. Call me old fashioned but I like the first choice keeper being the number one.

Perhaps this means that Dudek is going to stay after all?

yea hes staying if he was going he would have gone already! but i do agree the first choice GK should be no1!

Great news for Robbie, let's hope he's on fire for the start of the season. Is it me? Or does Rafa keep making absolutely the correct decisions... :D

Nice to see Gonzalez is number 11 too. A proper winger's number, that. Now if we can just call it outside left, sign a decent right half, and insist that all players travel to matches on the bus with their boots dangling round their necks, whilst puffing on a Woodbine, we'll be well sorted.

in reply cacodemon no unfortunately not always! Remember josemi, nunez, and morientes! but then again at least he had the sense to realise hed made mistakes and got ridd of them straight away unlike houllier with his fuckups!

To be fair to Rafa, I think it is clear to see he never wanted Nunez and he was just a stop gap as part of the Owen deal. Morientes looked a good signing, he had all the attributes. Unfortunately it didn't work out. Josemi looked good in his first few games and like you said, he realized he wasn't good enough and shipped him out quickly in place of Jan who it looks like we'll make some money on anyway.

Agreed, the great thing about Rafa is that you can see he's learning too - his decision making is fantastic, and yet when he does make the odd mistake, he digests it and makes sure it doesn't happen again. He hasn't bought a crap player, he has bought players that aren't suitable for the league, but they have quickly been dispatched.
