Wladimir Klitschko calls for David Haye to fight him

Wladimir Klitschko has accused Britain's WBA world heavyweight champion David Haye of "running away".
Haye withdrew from a fight with the IBF and WBO title holder last June because of injury but says he is now ready to fight him, or his brother Vitali.
Responding in a video message to Haye, the 34-year-old Ukranian said: "I am officially calling you out to fight me.
"You can't run away from me forever and you need to follow through with this fight to get respect. I'm ready."

Kiltschko also accused 29-year-old Haye of ducking a fight with Vitali.
Haye entered talks with Wladimir's older brother but opted instead to challenge Nikolay Valuev in November, winning that fight on a majority decision to claim the WBA title.

That was followed by a successful defence against American John Ruiz on 3 April, after which Haye said he would "take on the Klitschkos now, no doubt about it."

Haye's contract with Valuev had a rematch clause in it, but the Londoner is keen to avoid facing the giant Russian again.

"I'd like to fight again this year, in October or November," he said, while earmarking the 80,000-capacity Wembley Stadium as his preferred venue.
"I wouldn't have any qualms about fighting anyone. Look at my career to date - I'll fight anybody and go anywhere."

Vitali's next fight is against London-based Pole Albert Sosnowski next month, while Wladimir knocked out Eddie Chambers in March in the 12th round of a sterile contest.
Haye withdrew from a planned fight against Wladimir with a back injury he suffered in training.
Before the injury, Haye had infuriated the Klitschko camp by appearing in a T-shirt bearing a picture of himself holding the decapitated heads of Vitali and Wladimir.

Is Wlad going to officially offer better terms and conditions for any proposed fight?

Anyway, Haye reply ASAP and try to make the fight as long as he Wlad doesn't try to finacially mug him like the last time. If Haye keeps his hands up, constantly moves his head and feet plus uses his speed he'll win by knock out.

That said Wlad packs a big punch and could take Haye out at anytime.

Klitschko has a cheek. Look at the people he has fought over recent years, they were nobodies - and he has the cheek to accuse haye of running?

Thats not his fault though to be fair. He's fought Sam Peter, Ibragimov, Chagaev, Thompson, Chambers.

Vitali has taken out Gomez, Johnson and Arreola.

Theyve basically taken out anyone who's been highly ranked apart from Valuev and Povetkin, both of whom seemingly dont want to know. Its not their fault the opponents are garbage.

Haye has spiced things up a bit, hopefully Adamek does the same and beats Arreola though im not really convinced about him.

I would like to see this go through at some point. I don't like Haye, he's not respectable enough to be a champion. And he's not good enough a boxer to get away with not being respectable enough. ****. I think I'm drunk, but if that makes sense

Why is Hayes not reqpectable enough then, in your opinion? Seems like a well-spoken family man to me, who is also supremely confident in his abilities.

Yeah I've never got why some people don't like Haye , all boxers are arrogant, it's in their nature.

Boxers by their very nature are inconsistent, sorry arrogant. (Partridge )

He's always come across as pretty intelligent for a boxer, and is very honest in his interviews too.

David Haye has revealed talks with the Klitschko brothers are due to take place later this week.

Haye has been calling out Wladmir or Vitali for some time, and last year got close to taking on both before injury and then contract negotiations scuppered fights.

But Wladimir turned up the heat on Monday by issuing a come-and-get-me plea via an online video message, with a showdown between the pair looking increasingly likely.

And Haye's trainer and manager Adam Booth responded by telling Sky Sports News that a fight is likely to be made.

Haye, unlike last year, now has the WBA belt as a bargaining tool and a megafight in one of the big football stadiums will be discussed when the teams get together on Thursday.

"Adam said something yesterday (in response to Wladimir) and after a meeting on Thursday I will know more," he said.

"But until then, I'll leave Adam to it. I'm here relaxing and enjoying myself now."

I think that remains to be seen. Obviously you have your opinion and that's fine, but he's put away everyone put in front of him and often done it in the other fella's back yard. Beating Mormeck in France was great and his step up to heavyweight has been thus far impressive. He's certainly a breath of fresh air in the division.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The thing is Haye is necessary in todays heavyweight division as it was just so bland and dull beforehand, I also dont think hes all that in purely boxing terms but theres no doubt he is a breath of fresh air into what was otherwise a very stale division. He does seem to be getting better as well, hes certainly got the power to bother any heavyweight past or present & the speed to go with it, what he lacks is defence and is a bit chinny and to be honest I do feel that if a proper heavyweight like the klitchkos land one not only will he go down but he will be asleep for some time!

But to be fair to him he beat the Macc and all jokes aside he has done what he needs to have done to be classed as one of the elite heavyweights albeit in a ****ty generation of heavyweights.

That's got nowt to do with whether he's respectable tho, more whether he has the attributes to be the best...and in a heavyweight division devoid of talent and flair, he certainly has the attributes to be the best of a dour bunch.

Well Haye said he's gonna retire at the end of next year so this fight better happen soon. I don't think he's proven himself yet but that might be because the heavyweight division doesn't really have any big talents right now

Aye, getting up off the floor to bury Mormeck was impressive. As was stopping Fragomeni after he was badly cut. Good stoppages of Barrett, Kelly, Gurov, and only the second man to stop Ruiz.

Like him or loathe him, you can't question he's a major player in the division.
