I think its simply due to financial restrictions

Another reason might be that he has failed to settle in the area, moving country when you are so young must be incredibly difficult. Some players might enjoy it, others may be frightened by it.

As Ian says, at least there is a buy back clause - as by all accounts the lad is a bit special.
