Pure ****. A load of toffs sipping Pimms and guffawing about the oiks in town protesting against the Tory cuts. **** that.
That said I found it exciting as a kid...kinda went hand-in-hand with the FA Cup semi-final and the Grand National, as they often fell on the same weekend.

I remember we always seemed to play at home in the early hours of the morning - it was probably about 11.30 but it seemed so early because in those days anything but a 3pm kick-off was weird..
