    The Ice Hockey Thread

Any hockey fans on here? Who do you support?

the NHL playoffs have started and the world championships are two weeks away so plenty of good hockey to watch in the coming weeks

I've always wanted to like Ice Hockey, it seems like it'd be a bunch of fun to play, I used to enjoy playing normal hockey when I was a kid and skating is a laugh, so combining the two seems like a win.

Problem I have with watching it is never actually being able to tell where the bloody puck is
I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.
Now all my lies are proved untrue
And I must face the men I slew.
What tale shall serve me here among
    Mine angry and defrauded young?

Cable provider give ESPN America for free this month so I'll be watching at least the Sunday evening ones. Too bad the Penguins got fcuked up by injuries.

what's with Granlund mate? I heard before the worlds started that he's one of the brightest european talents, but the goal yesterday was just magic

for those who haven't seen it, goal of the year contender

What can you say, the kid can play for sure. Has surprised everybody, just 19 years old performing like a genuine superstar. Still physically raw, not the fastest skater by a long shot. But looks like he has no nerves at all and his passing/ reading of the game is probably above everybody else in the team already.
Did you see his penalty shot in the shootout vs. Germany?

I would be amazed if he didn't play for the Minnesota Wild next season.

                    saw that penalty yes.

                    He was drafted by Minnesota?

He does seem to cope well with the physical aspect of the game aswell, despite his young age, after the goal yesterday two russian players had a crack at him, but the kid stood firm, and i look forward to seeing more of his magic in the final

Yeah, he was their first pick in the last summer draft. He's been playing a couple of years now in finnish league so he's used to playing with big players.
It'll be a huge match tomorrow, probably need to get some nitro just in case

My cousin lives in Canada and supports the Canucks. I wouldn't mind watching some games, but where and how?
