Have the Tories enough to bridge the gap and claim victory?
Or will Tony moving away from No.10 and letting Brown take the reins give Labour the impetus they badly need to claim victory for themselves?
What about UKIP, The Greens and the BNP? Oh and the Lib Dems - almost forgot them!

I hope the Tories, BNP and UKIP have and unfortuante visit to a rather large hole.

More people voted for the Big Brother final than in the last elections.
Embarrassing.

Sadly it is, unfortuanatly the state of British politics means that there is not a great deal to choose from and there are a great number of poeple who vote for a party because they always have not because they agree with there politics in anyway.

Labour have been a huge disappointment to my mind. Sitting on massive majoritys for 10 years should have meant a greenlight to push through some quite groundbreaking legislation on areas such as the environment, education and inner city decay. Thatcher for all her many many many flaws did an awful lot more with smaller majorities. However, to my mind all we've seen is a continuation of Conservative policy.
Subject to Gordon Browns tenure I shall be voting for nobody in the next general election.
you should all vote plaid cymru.
wouldn't you like to be run by people like Kaip and I

Hopefully not the Tories.
New Labour are the Tories but worse. Everyone is worse off under his Tonyness's reign.
I hope anyone but Labour win the next election - they've done fuck all since coming to power - Blair is a puppet and if Brown ever comes to power the country will well and truly be fucked.
Sadly there is currently not a single politician worthy of running this country.
The government will win the next election. :handshake:
I suspect Labour will just edge it. I think Cameron has done a lot to bring the Tories back to a state where they are at least elactable again. Not sure that people trust the people around him though.
Not sure I like any of the likely candidates but Cameron gets some respect for returning at least some form of useful debate to the political arena. Although he looses some points for making such a big deal about cycling without offering more important environmental policies and for pretending to care about football.
Didn't he say he had no interest in football a few years back and now of couse he supports Aston Villa.
Typical politician!
I hope to god Brown doesn't get in. But I think it will be labour, howver they are likely to have presentational difficulties with Brown that I am sure the Tories will use - in particular the Midlothian question.
A vote for brown is a vote for Scotland, We know what happened with foundation hospitals voted in by scottish mp's on a English issue.
I work in the NHS and the foundation trust i work for over spent by £10m in there first year, Now it is running on minimal staff to make ends meet, You wont see managers removed though, its the porters, cleaners ect, Newly trained Nurses can't get jobs as nothing is being advertised even when there is a big shortage! I was told that 11 out of 90 newly qualified got jobs, All that money + 3 years training what a waste.

I wasnt 18 for the last elections, and havent yet decided on a party/politician to vote for in the next one, I do however see it as my duty to vote (unlike most young wasters  ) so will be doing copious amounts of research nearer the time :handshake:

There's a choise of 3.
Tory.
Almost Tory.
More Tory than the Tories.
Just pick your favourite colour between blue, red and orange but don't pick red if you don't want all your earnings to go to Lesbian social clubs.

Seems like a choice between Blue and Orange then!!
My local bloke back home is George Osborne, who's apparently on the fast track in the tory party. Living where I do, theres not much chance of a vote for anyone bar him counting unfortunately, a Tory 'Safe seat' I believe they call it. Still I might as well be informed and vote for who I think is the best anyhow.

Far bigger beneficiaries of government handouts are arms manufacturers and tax avoiders like the major banks.

Having now looked, I'm most disappointed, seems like the kind of bloke I would least like representing my area, can imagine him being rather out of touch with us regular joes. Pity its seemingly such a sure thing he'll get in, suspect he's been parked with us simply because of that, so he can definitely win without too much effort, and carry on up the ladder in the party as an MP.

Very astute. I'm sure you're right.
He really is very close to Cameron.
I think we need a English national party like the scottish one but looking after English interests, To start with having St Georges day as a Bank holiday.
Who's with me :D
Hilarie Clinton :handshake:
And Jacob Zuma

I'm all for arms manufacturers, I think they should pump more money into leg manufacturers too.
If they tax banks, who do you think will pay?

There's more choice in Big Brother than there is in Westminster.
It's like America now where you can barely tell them apart.
As Mumia Abu Jamal described them, they are separated only by the thickness of a dime.

I don't think its anyone's duty to vote. One certainly shouldn't be obliged to vote when you disagree with ALL parties.

Nobody should be forced to vote, but I think it's important not to wash your hands of the democratic process without being ready to accept the consequences of leaving it entirely up to someone else.
