    Socrates

    ...has died, aged 57.

Great player. Good man too by all accounts.

    Long-standing alcohol problem.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Really sad. That Brazil side with him, Zico and Falcao was amazing. Some player.

Very sad, part of the first great Brazil side I remember.

        RIP.

He was my favourite Brazilian player.

Until Josimar started belting them in from all over the pitch against Pat Jennings.
        Oh I don't know.

Aye, I remember that Mexico. 86 WC as the 1st I can still picture now. Wouldve been 10.
          3rd place. Worst champions ever.

Classy, tall and skinny. A bit like Ann from ANTM cycle 15.

And bearded like a man who had been left on an island and lived like a hermit, eating only shellfish and fruit, with only the waves and the wind for conversation

Robinson Crusoe meets America's Next Top Model. The perfect description and one hell of an epitaph.

                        Too young to remember him.

Is he the guy that some refer too as better then Pele? I know when I've heard that they usual talk about said player having alcohol problems.

He was def one of the earliest football idols when i was growing up. He played football with a style and swagger Cuntona could only play at.

No, we all know who that is.

                              First senior goal yesterday.
