    Barton

    Saw him yesterday and watching Goals on Sunday reminded me how good this lad has become. I know we have a fairly compact midfield now but I would love to see him in a red shirt right now.

    Wont happen mind. I expect a big club to make a move though.

        Not many better players than Gerrard in that position but he isnt a million miles away. He isnt close either mind.

                Said it before an i'll say it again Joey Barton is a very, very good player, been watching closely for a few years now, had by doubts then but not now.
                He's got everything you want in a centre midfielder - can shoot, can tackle, can score, can pass, everything really.
                Love to see him at Anfield.

                  Who knows, but i think Nigel Reo-Coker has more of a chance of ending up at Arsenal.

                    Barton is a good player - but is he any better than Nolan?

                    My preference would be for Scott Parker - if we were to bolster the centre midfield
                    Liverpool born and bred.

                        Barton vs Nolan - I think Barton just about gets the edge on playing ability for me, but Nolan has a sound character which can't necessarily be said for Barton. As you say though I'd prefer Parker, fantastic player. Has the best of Nolan and Barton in him.
