I think Crouch and Robbie will chip in with their fair share of goals but if fit I can see Bellamy being our top scorer. Gerrard should also score his fair share of goals and a new striker hopefully will too.

I Agree, provided Bellamy stays Fit Enough for the Majority of the season, He'll be our Top Scorer this season

Wouldn't mind if we still hadn't a "20-goal scorer" after next season as long as the goals come and are divided by our strikers/midfield. If Speedy get's quickly inside the english game he'll probably score a few himself. He & Aurelio should really help us in dead ball situations.
All and all I'm quietly confident with our current team and a quality additions to right side and upfront will see me lose the word quietly :D

:lfc:

Edit: Chose Bellamy

I still reckon we'll sign another quality striker. Rafa was short on striking options last year and he's bought Bellers and sold El Moro and Cisse. We need atleast another. And don't count Fowler as a signing!

bellamy is a good striker but he never shows his quality by scoring the right amount of goal before this..i hope he will be our top scorer this season

Listening to him on the TV etc he sounds really well motivated, plus he's playing in a quality team, I think Bellamy will do well, altough I think the goals will be spread out among the team - which is a good thing.

I'm surprised how little discussion there's been about linking up with Flo again this season. From what I remember they played well together at Blackburn last season.

I for one am quite excited about the prospects this season as our attacking options seem to be greater what with Speedy coming in and a general improvement in the level of competition for places all round

Bellamy scored a good number of goals last season. The problem is much like Owen he takes a few matches to get to full sharpness following injuries.

I can see him being our top scorer but I think it will depend on which formatins we play. If we get a right winger then I can see Crouch getting lots of goals.

Seems I went with the majority and plumped for Bellers.

I think Fowler will push him all the way though with 45 goals between them.

Fowler 28 goals
Bellamy 23 goals

I wouldn't be surprised if Rafa has set each of his Strikers with a 15 goal target - aswell as expecting Gerrard to post a similar number. Added to the fact that if we get another striker he'll be given the same 15 goal target, then Rafa is counting on 75 goals coming from only 5 players.

We then have the players like Gonzalez, Riise, Alonso, Zenden (if he gets playing time), Hyypia who all can and should chip in with a few each.

I went for Gerrard as top goal scorer, as I think he will get more playing time than the strikers.

I'll stick my neck out (because he hasn't got one)
I think Bellamy is in with a good shout.
I can't see Gerrard having another goal-scoring season like last, and Bello is desperate to do well.
OK, apart from last season his goal-scoring has been pretty poor, but if he stays fit I think he'll surprise a few people.

There are some wildly optimistic predictions on here. I voted Gerrard because I think he could get >15 again. I'd be pleasantly surprised if Bellamy or Fowler get >15.

Stevie, definitely.

If Bellamy can stay injury-free, he'll defo score a lot of goals.

I expect a lot of improvement in the offensive front this year, especially with Bellamy, Gonzalez and (hopefully!) Alves adding a new dimension to our team that wasn't quite there in previous seasons - PACE.

Very excited!

Bellamy without a doubt, unless we sign someone from the top drawer - which is unlikely.

Bellamy will prove his real class in the coming season and will rip it up in the prem without a doubt.

I voted 'other' - i.e. the new striker we're bringing in.....:D

Just out of curiosity, who would you want Rafa to bring in?

Well that's the sixty four thousand dollar question. I've no idea, personally. There are far too many doubts about some of the strikers linked with us so far - namely Kuyt, Bent and Defoe (the latter two surely out of the question now).

In an ideal world I'd choose David Villa but he clearly isn't an option. It's a real toughie but it needs solving as we have to add another forward.

I've a bit of a hunch that Rafa's gonna pull a rabbit out of the hat as far as a striker is concerned...one we've not considered.

I think Bellamy will score a few but I can see Gerrard being our main contributor. His runs from deeper should be enhanced by good wing play hopefully.

It will be God.

I voted for GOD
I think that a fit Robbie, coupled with the service he will get from our midfield will mean goals a plenty
He has certainly lost some weight over the summer and providing he steers clear of injuries I am sure he will score at least a goal every 2 games

I think EL CAPITAN will be our top scorer once again. I don't think our strikers have more than 15 goals each in them.
Gerrard has the ability to do it all and he will again this season.

I would be quite happy with what we've got at the moment, provided that we get that Alves deal done. We'll have three strikers in Bellamy, Crouch and Fowler with the supporting cast of Gonzalez, Alves, Kewell, Gerrard & Garcia, all capable of scoring goals from midfield.

In an ideal world I would like the gaffer to bring in another centre-forward, but as you said, the names linked with us (Kuyt, Bent etc) doesn't really excite me at all. I think we shouldn't bring in another striker just for the sake of it. It's not as if we desperately need another one

Lets hope so. Although I do expect the goals to be a more equally distributed this season...

If Gerrard can stay injury-free, Gerrard should be up there with the strikers on the top scorers chart.

Bellamy for me. He has pace , ability to finish the ball and familiar with EPL.

I reckon Bellamy will hit 25 + in all comps, think he will have a first season impact similar to the one Hesley had in his first season.
