I was going to say that the one against Sunderland last season was better, but this one was against the rats, so it counts double.
No doubt Moyes will say it was lucky, and his side were robbed.:whatever:

Fucking hell. Goal of the season.
I can't imagine what it would take to beat that.

It'll take a backwards header from his own corner flag to beat that. :D

Goal of the season. End of.
Essien's goal wasn't bad too.

The goal from that Shefff Utd lad last month was brilliant. I can't remember his name though! The shame!
Reminded me of this goal

As much as I don't want to say this, I actually think that Essien's goal at the weekend was better and as for volleys, I think Robin van Persie's goal when he jumped up about 5 foot to hit it against Charlton (?) was better too.
Fucking hell. Goal of the season.

I thought the same thing on Saturday but then, for my money, Essien only went and beat it the very next day. What. A. Fucking. Strike.
Matt Taylor might be a player to keep our eyes on? Might be LFC material if he progresses.

Not for me.
Spurs have been close to signing him once or twice recently.

It was a lucky strinke that sailed in. Fair play to him for trying but now the balls are so light and swerve so much it encourages players to take pot shots from all over the pitch.
Long range shooting is so overrated. It's spectacular but too dependent on luck to qualify. I much preferred Diego Milito's goal for Zaragoza against Osasuna the other day.

He's too erratic for being LFC material. Arrrgghhh ... who's consistent in our current side ?

Here it is, if anyone's interested (which they probably aren't ):

great goal, but he only had a couple of pie shops to get passed. Not sure he could have done that in the modern game

Nah, nads to that, you can only play to your own time, developed now Maradonna (or any of the other greats) would have been just as great, and still done things like that. He might have been hacked at the start though....
As Matt Taylor, with all due respect to him, showed with his goal, today's balls etc make distance and power shots a completely different skill these days. But few players today would be able to match a player like the Maradonna of '86 with the ball at their feet.

I agree. But to my eyes it's a far better goal than Taylor's long range lucky dip.
