It's the same old, prodding, side to side passing bull**** from us. We need to start going into these home games with attacking intent. To play two defensive midfielders at home to West Brom is a disgrace, i bet West Brom couldn't believe their luck. No wonder they played with no fear.
Gotta say, i agree with every word. We'll never know if Pacheco can do it for us without giving him a PROPER chance.

And with Babel, he has lots of flaws, but i still cant help but feel there is SOMETHING there - again, he wont produce without getting a proper chance thiough.

Jova needs more games but I don't think he will be truly an impact player we need. The problem is we cannot play him and Kuyt in the same formation as they are just too much alike.

We definitely need some width and speed and if we are not going to give Babel a chance what was the point of not selling him this summer. Being on the bench will not making him better.

Absolutely. It was a moment of greatness that saved us today and imo we need to be more aggressive and attack-minded (Babel and Pacheco should help there) if we are hoping to put ourselves in the mix.

Yep, exactly, i'd like to see him brought into the team for certain games(like today), lets see if he link up with Gerrard and Torres, it could work a treat for all we know.

Babel too, should be given a chance, i was hoping under Roy he would be given more minutes on the pitch but so far the signs aren't good.

Doesn't matter how many times we see his rubbish touch, his laziness, his terrible decision making etc, he'll do something that'll make me think there's a world beater in there waiting to get out!! Punishment

I think with the addition of this new fella, Gerrard will play behind Torres and Cole to the left
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

Without agreeing with everything JohnDoe might have said in the past, I agree with his point. Jovanovic is the archetypal Rafa signing. More than Jova being found out (already), I feel Roy will show up Rafa more this season in the league (and I don't rate Roy as a great manager). Conversely, and perversely, keep an eye on Inter. There will be tears for the RCDNWB.

I think Jova will get better, but I have been suprised that Babel has not started games.

But I do have an idea as to why he hasn't. I think Roy basically thinks Agger needs a bit of protection at Left Back and as such is playing Jova there who is a bit stronger and tougher than Ryan and probably (in the Kuyt fashion) more suited to the defending work than Babel.

I think once we get Konchesky settled in we'll start seeing more of Babel.

but jova has been exceedingly **** on the back foot thus far.

i'm wondering if roy sees babel as an impact sub who can play anywhere across the front 4.

                  1. especially in relation to positioning.
                  2. Exactly, Ryan is the new Yossi.

Where did Jovanavic play for Standard? Because from what I've seen so far for us and at the world cup he isn't a winger more of a wide forward and that is at a stretch.

Having said that I still think he needs more time with the rest of the team as at the moment he stands out as a new player not knowing where to make his runs and how team mates play.

i think its wrong to write jova off so earl;y but he is not a winger and thats what we're crying out for. he has been decent at best but is still getting used to the english game. time will tell.

as for babel he simply must start getting a game. his attitude has been first class since rafa went and i genuinely feel he will be good foir us when he gets a start.

On the point of Babel, i agree we should be utilizing him more, more so as an impact sub. I still don't like him but regardless of that we need to make the most of the players we've got (considering the position the clubs in). Babel will never be a world beater and i still dont like seeing him in a red shirt, but he does cause trouble for tired legs and there is always the possibility of him slotting one now and again.

I'm noticing BabelTweet is sighing a lot... His tweets are usually upbeat. Wonder if he's leaving.

I'm guessing we're trying to force him out of the club today.
