    Peter Crouch

Tottenham striker Peter Crouch still holds his former club Liverpool in the highest regard, so much so that he would like to see them win the Premier league this season. The England international spent three years at Anfield prior to being sold to Portsmouth, but he suggested they remain the most enjoyable years of his career thus far.

Crouch told Sky Sports News: “I found it difficult to score in the first part of my time there (at Liverpool) and the fans were fantastic to me.”

“I went on to score a good amount of goals and had the best years of my career.”

“I'd love to see them win the league.”

I've always liked Crouch (not in a manly way)

I always liked Crouch, I was gutted when he left

Hated him at first and was gutted we had signed him, but the tall one showed what an excellent footballer and nice guy he really is. So much so that I wish he was still here.

He made a big mistake leaving imo, I know he felt he needed to be a guaranteed starter, only now he's spending as much time on the bench at Spurs as he would have at Anfield.

Yeah he'd likely be getting a lot of game time right now.

I think Rafa did not really try too hard to keep him either though. I think there are some sales Rafa has to concede to allow for funds, and unfortunately Crouch was one of those.

Love the guy, wish we still had him. Yep he's ****ed his career right up really - left us for first team football and sits on Spurs' bench instead.

Crouch spent three years at Liverpool under Benitez, and says the Reds tactician is from a different managerial school to Redknapp, although he did compare the former to England boss Fabio Capello.

"Harry wears his heart on his sleeve and will tell you if you're playing badly," he said.

"Benitez isn't like that and might not rip into you as much, or pat you on the back.

"Benitez is the type of manager, similar to the England manager perhaps. You do have to work hard to get a 'well done'.

"That's the way Rafa plays it, and he's done exceptionally well. I'd rather have Harry's approach. It's easier to deal with someone like Harry because he's so open.

"I can go and talk to him and he can explain to him why I'm left out and if I'm playing well. Rafa keeps his cards to his chest.

                      Agree.

His career hasn't really moved on since he left. It's a shame that he decided to leave as he was a really good player for us and a top bloke. If he'd stayed he could have become an all time Anfield cult hero.

He wasn't good enough for Liverpool. I wish he was still here, but that is more down to who we actually replaced him with in the squad.

In the past weeks I've wished that Baros, Ciise, Pongolle, Bellamy and even Kewell were still here. But Rafa was right to ship out the lot.

On another note I would have liked Rafa to have tried Crouch up top with Torres as I think they would have done well, but as a replacement for Torres, Crouch does not fit the bill as he isn't mobile enough.
                        Forwards.......

Rafa didn't have the option of keeping Owen. If he had played the others they would all have stayed. Some of them would even have accepted bit part roles.

i feel that we would have won the premier league last year had we kept crouch and not signed keane..... let's be perfectly honest, there were a fair few games when torres was injured, and crouch would have been the guy to step in..... also, there were a fair few games when we drew but needed a plan B to step off the bench..............but had nobody!!!

A bit gutted to be perfectly honest......
