The man is a seriously class act - a genuinely fantastic footballer - yet he looks so poor in this Chelsea side. Funny innit.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Before he arrived there were questions about whether he and Lampard could play in the same team, five months on and we still do not know because he has nt done a thing. My memories of his play yesterday was that he was quite happy to just lay it off to Lampard and was nt too willing put the work in tackling either.

The period when Alonso was off having stitches was telling, a Ballack playing well would have been spreading the play and orchestrating the movement and tempo; instead he showed just about no willingness to do any of those things.

Maybe his age is a factor.

He's not old, but he's 30, and I think players have to really be up for it when they move to a new league, particularly the Premiership, otherwise games just pass them by.

Still, his gillion pounds a week pay packet is probably some consolation.

Well, here we are in a room with two manky hookers and a racist dwarf. I think I'm heading home.

just look at Essien in the world cup, ran games.
not saying Essien isn't a class act in the PL

but both players IMO are shakled by Jose's tactics.

This rift between special one and rich one recon its been going on well before season started, so any new player might be effected by this.

3 season of a bought team fighting for a tophy they've already won 1st time around. Have they got the hunger?
Its times like these we learn to live again FF

Just wondering if language is a problem for Ballack. He came over not being able to speak English and I don't know if he has learnt now.

Its no real excuse because he really looks off the pace in midfield. It also makes you wonder if he doesn't like playing second fiddle to Lampard.

I think major players are going to start thinking about their game before big pay days in the future. Perhaps he would have gone somewhere where he could have bossed the midfield instead of going where he would get the most money.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Not true. He was one of the premier midfield players in the world during the course of the last 4 or 5 seasons. Playing for Bayern he was simply outstanding. The lynch pin of a very, very sucessful team.
