    Johan Crowff

Of course! If Kuyt is pronounced Kowt then Cruyff...

He was the first player I saw play (on telly only) who took my breath away, truly one of the all-time greats. And I can't believe I've been mispronouncing his name for 33 years.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

That's what I've been saying all along

    Kuijt is almost pronounced Kate

But I'm just a silly Dutchman

Anyway. Agree about Cruijff being one of the Best players I've seen play. He was a Genius with a Football

You're Dutch? Not South African? Don't you think your username is a littlle misleading?

Or are you just saying you're stoned?

Obvious question but I've got to ask. Any relation?

Actually, kuyt is pronounced more like Kowt.

                          cruiiff is pronounced krife....

Really? Gullit promounced it Khrowff (with quite a guttural 'K') last night.

Pronounciations differ between Flemish and Walloons perhaps?
