He knows that if he signs for United, he's dead in the eyes of the people on Merseyside...

No. You said, quote on quote, tribalfootball style, "I would not blame him if he signed for the Scum". Stating that Man U are better than Newcastle is just stating the painfully obvious, leaving Newcastle to go to just about any other club in the EPL would be a step up. But to "not blame him"? Come on mate. It would make me sick to the stomach to see the little **** in a Man United shirt.
