Was only a matter of time.

He's not worth 17m, no way.

But then I said that about Carrick and they went on to win the league....

      Dunno.

Good addition for them, even if the fee is ridiculous. Hopefully it means they have less to spend on other players, but they're hardly skint.

They've needed a ball-winner for ages, and he obviously fits that particular bill.

Scholes doesn't have time on his side, but Hargreaves clearly can't act as a like-for-like replacement for the dirty little ginger *******. It appears that their long-term centre midfield partnership is going to be Carrick and Hargreaves.

It doesn't scare the **** out of you, does it.

Ludicrous money. Good player, but really crazy money

Is it just me who doesn't think a Carrick-Hargreaves midfield pairing is the most inspiring thing going?

Edit - nope, Shaggy does to

Prior to the World Cup last year the lad was a joke. I think he'll be a total waste of money

Carrick will probably replace Scholes and Hargreaves takes Carricks position.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

                  Carrick-Hargreaves v`s Mascher-Gerrard.

ManU moving backwards since Keanes departure.

The Premiership table would suggest otherwise.

Hmmmmm. I'm not sure how he would do in the premiership. He's a decent player but not what the filth need. They need a replacement for Scholes. A partnership of Carrick and Hargreaves is quite defensive so they might not be as effective in future which is fine by me.

He was only a joke to the sort of neanderthal England fans that boo'd John Barnes, primarily because Sven kept bringing him on as a sub in games that were crying out for an injection of attacking verve rather than a defensive holding player. That was never anything to do with his actual play on the pitch.

You don't play for Bayern Munich for as long as he has, and from such a young age, without being a decent footballer.

Odd that Bayern's lack of CL footie hasnt brought the price down lower...

So they'll play their 4-3-3/4-5-1 formation next season with Carrick and Hargreaves in deeper roles, Scholes in front and Giggs and Ronaldo wide, supporting pie boy up front...

Bit like Chelsea's system, before they fecked it up with Sheva and Ballack.

He is one of the best holding midfielders in the World IMO.
