    Owen Injured. AGAIN

    07-20-2007
Injury curse returns to haunt Owen
Newcastle striker Michael Owen, who has been cursed by injury in the last two years, suffered another setback on Friday when he hurt his thigh in training.

The Premiership club said that the 27-year-old England atacker will miss the next two friendly matches against Carlisle on Saturday and Celtic on Tuesday.

'We hope that this won't last longer than 10 days,' said manager Sam Allardyce. 'We need him back quickly.'

Newcastle hope to have Owen fit for the game with Juventus on July 29.

Owen broke his foot at the start of the 2005-06 season after joining from Real Madrid and then damaged his knee at the 2006 World Cup which kept hin sidelined until the last few games of the 2006-07 campaign.

Is there a point where you should feel a twinge of sympathy for Owen?

Come on, whatever his behaviour further down the line he is majorly responsbile for some of our silverware. We would be less 1 FA Cup at the least without him. I can't enjoy him being injured and feel quite sorry for him really.

I don't get any pleasure out of him being injured but I don't feel any sympathy for him either. He's an injured football multi-millionaire, I reserve my sympathy for people who have real problems.

Anyway, I was just pointing out that our non-injury prone friend has another injury

Smells of Jonny Wilkinson to me the poor lad.

No one should laugh at his injury he was a great Liverpool player for us

People slat him...He scored us loads of goals. The two he scored against Arsenal to win the FA Cup is up there in Liverpool folk lore. He left us after Ged's rein to join the most famous team in all of football. Why are people upset with him? I think Liverpool hung the lad out to dry with a smear campaign against him in the press.
