Newcastle launching £18M bid for Man Utd's Carrick

Newcastle launching £18M bid for Man Utd's Carrick
    tribalfooball.com - January 20, 2008

Newcastle United are ready to break the bank to lure Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick back home.

The Daily Star Sunday says Geordie Carrick is top of Kevin Keegan's shopping list and Toon owner Mike Ashley is willing to part with £18 million to land the Wallsend graduate.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

        He's a poormans Xabi? He's ****ing sh!te- END OF! He's not a poor man's anything he's just a piss poor player!

United paid what was it? £18.5mil for a central midfielder who'd never played in the champions league and barely played/s for England. And they were calling him a richmans Gerrard last season

It reflects so badly at the moment on Carrick that He is infact a tramps Alonso and Alonso's been so poor since he got back he's been unrecognisable.

Typical Newcastle. Spunking millions more than a player's worth. I like Keegan but I genuinely can't stand the inbred Geordie gibbon fans and that Ashley character really rubs me up the wrong way.

I hope that Carrick stays because if he leaves then that points to that Masch will move to Man U.

As much as he is overrated all over England, he's a underrated here.Nothing special bout him, but he's no ****e either. In fact last season he was one of united's better players.Don't know about Masch conection to Mancs, if it exist at all, but I don't see that deal coming. Unless we sign him, I see him in Barca or Real.

its funny isn't it. i'm no fan of carrick never have been but he helped utd to the title last year. he scored some important goals for them home & in europe. something that alonso definately didn't do. Alonso is living off early promise for me and is no where as good as a lot of reds like to think. there isn't a hoard of clubs beating the door down for him even though we have been overloaded in centre midfield.

                  Yep.

It's not a popular opinion, but it's the correct one.

We are very quick to put players down. But he played in a 2 man central midfield in a team that scored an incredible number of goals, conceded very few and in the end romped to the title. If he's as bad as people say, how can they carry a player in the most important position in the team?

Someone should buy a big wet piece of Haddock .. write defenders on the side and go up and slap Kev in the face with it a few times
