people are too quick to give out about arsene wenger because he doesn't play english players....i think that this is a load of bollix if you ask me to be honest. Lets be honest here, if a player is good enough then he will make it at arsenal regardless....
they have brought through some very very good players that didn't quiet make it at arsenal but then went onto be class for other teams... players like Sidwell, Harper, that german right back that used to play at fulham, bentley, pennant, larsson, muamba.....in terms of producing top class footballers, then there is nobody like arsenal at doing it in my opinion - although in a year or two, LFC could take over that mantle!!!

I think Wenger has taken over from Ferige in terms of influence at all levels of the league. For a long time, if a player didnt make it at Utd (no shame in that) they were usually good enough for first team elsewhere (either prem or below) and there were simply loads of them knocking about (from numerous hasbeen at Boro, to thornley, Bosnich, chadwick, Savage etc etc)
As Frank the Tank mentioned, just look at the number of players Wenger tries to develop. If they make it (like same Clichy and Cesc) then superb, if not then he will sell them on, add in a sell on fee and then laugh his tits off and count the readies when clubs like us?brum and Blackburn/Spurs waste money on Pennant and Bentley.
He does have an unneverving eye for young talent. Sometimes the players wont turn out that great, but he is quick to spot that. But when they do turn out to be great, **** me are they great.
