It is an amazing season. Amidst the ashes, astoundingly, Ngog has risen to carry the fight. Sure, 8 times out of 10 it's a shambles what he does 20% of the time is worth the wait!

From Kevin McCarra's Blog in the Guardian
"Of late, David Ngog, bought for £1.5m from Paris St-Germain, has begun to assume some significance.
His claims were, of course, enhanced when he added the second goal in a 2-0 win over Manchester United this month but there is also a general improvement. In Budapest Ngog showed more confidence and caught the eye with persistent contributions.
He is no prodigy but there are merits. Ngog, 20, regularly turns down interview requests from the French media with the disarming comment that he will speak when he has done something worth talking about. Should the progress of a fairly strong and quick attacker continue, he may soon face the microphones.
Note has been taken of the young striker and Paul Le Guen, once the manager of PSG, has begun to argue that an under-used Ngog should have been more patient when at the club. Comments like that will make Benítez feel satisfied with his scouting system.
Ngog may not be on the rampage in the Premier League but he epitomises the sort of option Liverpool crave."

I wish Babel had this sort of attitude"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah
"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey

a long way to go but in all fairness he has also come a long way since he joined last season.
Looks like he's settling into the team and 5 goals speaks for itself. Although he's no torres he is quietly going about his own business.
If he gets 10 goals this season that has to go down as a successful season for the lad. Hopefully he will do it.
In a way you can understand rafa not signing owen because ngog has scored goals and owen wouldnt have got any more than the 5 that ngog has - maybe more important goals like the opening in matches but not more. With experience he could become a real top player for us.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

But strangely people (ie the press / media / Sky) are conveniently ignoring things like this. Because its not doom and gloom about Rafa or the club.Originally posted by BigChief View PostExactly. Imagine him in a team that was on the form we showed last season. Are you the Judean People's Front?

Yeah. I've tried to stop short of saying there is an agenda in the press against us, but when you see things like this, then you have to wonder - especially in the light of Man City's form hardly getting a mention despite over £200m of outlay in the past two seasons.Originally posted by barnes10 View Postnot only are they ignoring him, they're using him - of all recent signings - to put the boot in. purely because he's not torres or drogba.
:crackoff
As for them slagging off Wash because he's not Torres or Drogba, perhaps the press could show as an example of another proven world class player who cost £1.5m? I'll bet they'll struggle! Are you the Judean People's Front?

there isn't a cat in hells chance of the young lads playing in the Europa league cos its now our number 1 hope for a trophy, they don't even get a look in in the league cup so they won't get near this.Originally posted by peekay View PostEven at his current stage of development, he is better than Voronin. I am fairly confident that he will have a career in one of the European top leagues.
Hopefully players like Pacheco, Ecclestone, Ayala, Kelly, Amoo, Irwin will get a chance to play in the Europa league and develop the same way. There is now an opportunity for some of our youngsters to claim squad places for the next PL campaign.
As for N'Gog,he's done very well, pace, trickery, an eye for goal and a very level head it would seem. He's a big lad too but haven't seen much in the way of aerial threat though.
needs to beef up a bit and keep progressing

Another goal for the lad tonight, yet people (like that sarcy cunt on BBC) don't seem to rate him at all and laugh him off.
Tell you what, I'm sure if he was playing for United, Chelsea or Arsenal - and putting in the performances that he is right now - then the media would be creaming themselves over this next 'wonderkid'
Be interesting to see how he develops over the next few seasons, as he looks a bargain so far (although it's early days yet). Well in chap, keep it up
