As long as he's putting in a shift and fighting for the team one should'nt worry too much abt him.

It's a profession and he's being very very professional. It's a short career too.

I'd imagine when he gets into a poor run of form he'll get alot of stick
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Every player has a poor run of time one time or the other. It happens to players who play with passion and players who play for money.

It's something people will have to accept regardless of money and it isnt like he's on massive wages. He's only getting what he should be and that too in the richest League in the World.

Fair play to the guy for telling it how it is! its something we know already but atleast he has had the balls to admit it. i know i don't do my job for the love of it just for the money like a lot of people.

for example if i was offered a job earning x million a year i will do it for the money and not because i love it!

If you've got nothing good to say, don't say it.

It's a pretty dumb, arrogant and needless pr gaff that will haunt the self obsessed dickhead. Giving ammunition away.

Fine, smile at the ******s you work with, suck the corporate nob and take your money. Most of us do - but keep it to yourself unless you're an idiot.

Money has corrupted the game I used to love with a passion.

Here I go again, but I do remember the times when putting on the team shirt meant something (...well if it was red and had a Liver Bird on it).

The type of player who will never play for a truly great club as even though they get paid millions in order to play for the greatest clubs you do need passion to win and not cash your pay check!

I'm genuinely not convinced by that argument. I suspect that a lot of top footballers are doing it as a job rather than being driven by passion.

I like him more for the interview. I'm bored with the banal, vacuous, identikit interviews given by most footballers. There isn't a lot of great insight there but at least there is honesty.

We don't all work for John Lewis you know.

Would you feel the same sense of pride working for Primark?

                              good interview son.

much better to hear a player tell the truth.......99% of players are in it for the money.

you get the odd players like carra, giggs, terry etc.... who probably genuinely do love the club they are at and wouldnt move elsewhere for the money.....then you get spineless cunts like robbie keane who has a prepared speech for every new club he joins ....... "i've always been a spurs / liverpool / celtic fan and always wanted to play at white hart lane / anfield / celtic park"

                              big up yourself benoit.
