Would have been interesting, there or there abouts I'd imagine, some good sides in Europe at the time but we'd have gone very close at least.

Barcelona are just such an amazing team, obviously we can't compare. All i know is that performance was a pleasure to watch and football in general is better for it with the current Barcelona team around.

That AC Milan team is incredible though, bloody hell.

Unlike the Real side that we just watched that Milan side could defend and had a fantastic attack, could they hold the ball and get long periods of possession and play, yes. That Milan team was awesome and i reckon they'd give as good as they got, i think that Milan team would triumph.

You watch that performance tonight and realise how far behind we've fallen, but watching that I simply have to say that was one of the best footballing displays I've ever seen!

Pure skill alone, I think no one is going to ever better him. He was a proper thug as well (and strong as an ox), judging by the mass brawl involving Athletico & Barca players at the beginning of this clip.

I dont think there has ever been better, just dont think that goal should get as many plaudits only coz how ****e think it was reid was tracking back etc.

But the bloke was a phenom.

Greatest player of my generation. Messi could be, but then he plays in a beautiful team full of great players. Maradona didn't need them round him, just did it himself

oh and Zidane is a wonderful talent,similar to xavi...in wonderful to watch and sits proudly in the list below thje one of world greats imo.

yeah mate its really depressing how far we've fallen behind, its just not right, it really isn't.

Although i watched in amazement tonight i was slightly bitter, after watching Barca our football is an abomination.

i think we had at least one in us.

just look at how english teams struggled when the ban was lifted. we lacked nous at that level.

i wonder how that team would have played. would they have been more tactical against that milan team?

That Milan side was great.

And this Barcelona team are amazing to watch too. Although there are times when it doesn't come off and they just can't change it. It doesn't happen often but it's their Achilles heel.
