I haven't neein in that thread for a while tbfOriginally posted by Kenneth View PostAre you seriously suggesting this happens? Mig gets slaughtered constantly, as does Skrtel. Johnson gets off lightly here because he has some very vocal fans.
Certainly Skrtels occasional brilliance is negated by potentially a lack of leadership, some rashness and the fact a lot of it is last ditch defending and blocking, because the defence are under soo much pressure.
Originally posted by danperkins View PostCarra and Neville went through the goals & Johnson was at fault for the 3 of them. He's been very bad all season & back end of last season.
Don't think the CBs are lauded, Skrtel has been brilliant this season & gets dogs abuse off some people. Sahko looks nervy & raw. Flanno has had a good season but has tailed off a bit of late.
Johnson isn't being persecuted if anything the complete opposite, it's just people's reactions to him making so making regular and costly mistakes.
Thats quite a selective telling of what they said. They also blamed Skrtel and Sakho for not leading and pushing the team out in the build up the last 2 goals. Flannagans markoing on the first goal was also mentioned. Another of the goals came from our corner, where we had seven players ahead of the ball. The game broke down and Palace broke on us. It just is not true to say all three goals were Johnsons fault - watch the game in advance of each goal, there are multiple mistakes.
Anyway. Thats what I think. Johnson had a good game, as did the team up until the 75th minute. Once it all went south I certainly was not surprised to see Johnsons name mentioned. I am not saying he is flawless, I just don't believe the fault always lies with him.Modifying post.

Would you say the equivalent if he was getting abused in the street - that he should stay indoors?Originally posted by RedRum View PostIf footballers don't want abuse, they shouldn't make a twitter account. That is the way it goes. People always want to point a finger of blame. Its a sad fact of life. Stay off twitter if it hurts.
Disecting his (in my opinion) recent poor performances is one thing but hurling abuse directly at him is nobodies right. Whether professional footballer, shop assistant or whatever your job isFootball without Origi is nothing

I don't really understand why any footballer would want to go on twitter to be honest.Originally posted by McDermotX View PostReally shouldn't engage them.........This twitter lark is a double edged sword. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Couldn't be arsed with it myself, but I think some want their cake etc etc, but yet cannot seem to appreciate the downside of giving the arseholes of the world a direct link to them."I will make the boys feel your support"

I know what you're saying, but twitter seems more equivalent to standing on Hyde Park corner saying look at me that simply going into the street.Originally posted by ChesterDave View PostWould you say the equivalent if he was getting abused in the street - that he should stay indoors?

Anytime to be honest, you probably get **** from opposition fans and internet trolls most of the time, and some of your own fans when you play badly. When you have a go back or say something in the heat of the moment the media pick up on it.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostParticularly after a match like that. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Carra said it was Johnsons fault for the first two goals mate. For the third goal he said why is Skrtel pushing out there, but then he said Skrtel had two men (Lucas didn't track back) and Johnson didn't mark anyone. Nothing selective about it, they said about the CB's not pushing up but they have focusing on Sahko more so than Skrtel over the past few weeks. Skrtel has had an outstanding season in a terrible backline.Originally posted by Buzzo View PostI haven't neein in that thread for a while tbf

Johnson had a good first half, said it myself ihn the match thread. But form the second half onward he had a mare, got worse as game went on and pressure was put on him.
You will be very much in the minority if you don't think Johnson was at fault, Carra clearly pointed this out & seemingly most on here agree. Guess we'll have to agree to disagree
